Jammin Games - Gunship Origins

I'm delighted to announce that I've partnered with @micro_prose in a publishing deal for my combat helicopter game! It will be released as Gunship Origins; the first Gunship title published by MicroProse in over 25 years. As a huge fan of MicroProse games in the 90s, this couldn't be a better fit. I'm absolutely pumped about it.

Denton joined Jammin Games full time in April. Before that, it was mostly Jamon. That's why the visuals have gotten so much better in the last couple of months!

While Jamon & Denton are the main daily contributors, all six Holmgren brothers have worked on Gunship Origins. Jamon: founder/programming/everything Denton: vfx, animations, visuals, sfx Lucas: music, testing Drew: voiceover, military advisor Shane: testing, military advisor Blair: testing Maybe someday Jammin Games will have all 6 brothers working on games full time. One can dream....

@sp4reR1bs Yeah, @dentonholmgren is doing amazing work on the visuals. Meanwhile, @jamonholmgren is working on functionality, like adding the SAMs guidance system and launch system recently

@McgregorJonryan @Gulskjegg We are going to make them look as good as we can, but we are an indie studio (two devs) so it won’t look like a triple-A title. Also, we are focusing on performance. We want to make sure the game can run on mid-level laptops and above.

Couldn’t find a “shrapnel hitting metal sheet” sound effect that I liked, so I guess I gotta make my own!

Compiling a custom linux_x86 export template on my Steam Deck now! I can hear the fans whirring.

Done. Okay, now to figure out how to set this up properly.
