National believes in personal responsibility. If you do the crime, you do the time. The choice is clear: more criminals running rampant again under Labour, or safe streets with National.

And there’s a lot more than this. This deal means we can sell more of what we’re great at - seafood, forestry products, wool, coal, iron & steel, industrial products, mānuka honey, and bulk infant formula. It means more jobs on farms and orchards, more money coming into local communities, and more opportunities for Kiwis to get ahead. Fixing the basics. Building the future.

With Kiwis facing higher prices at the pump and for everyday goods, the best way to prevent inflation is by restoring stability in the Gulf and returning safe shipping to the Strait of Hormuz.   That’s why I spoke with Pakistan’s Prime Minister, @CMShehbaz, tonight. I thanked the Prime Minister for his work facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, and for Pakistan’s tireless efforts towards a longer-term peace.   The best pathway to a sustainable solution in the Middle East is through diplomacy.

@chrisluxonmp The far bigger shift is NZ companies hiring entire offshore teams in India while still calling themselves “New Zealand companies.” much bigger impact on local wages, job availability, career progression, the long‑term skill base in NZ, tax revenue staying in the country.

Our Free Trade Agreement with India will be signed next week, an agreement that gives NZ exporters access to 1.4 billion customers. It means more jobs on farms and orchards, more money coming into local communities, and more opportunities for Kiwis to get ahead.

We’re saying yes to more events and concerts, and no to rules and restrictions stopping you from seeing your favorite bands at Eden Park. It’s all about creating more jobs and opportunities for Kiwis.

Cyclone Vaianu has the potential to be a significant and damaging event. This is what you need to know. Impacts will begin in the Far North this afternoon, spreading down the North Island and upper South Island overnight and through tomorrow. Expect damaging winds, heavy rain, flooding, landslides and coastal inundation. Power outages, road closures and isolated communities are likely too. There is still time to prepare. So secure anything that strong winds could lift. Clear gutters and drains. Remove loose debris. Prepare for power cuts and make a plan in case you need to evacuate. Check on neighbours who may need support as well. During the storm, stay inside. Do not drive unless it’s absolutely necessary. And please do not walk, swim or drive through floodwater. If you see rising water or signs of a landslide, do not wait for official warnings. Trust your instincts and move to safety immediately. You can keep up to date with the latest watches and warnings from MetService and follow the advice of Civil Defence and emergency services. Above everything, please put safety first.

@NZNationalParty Get more frequency on buses and trains. Line up the timetables so that buses meet the trains. Don't cancel the trains just to make on time stats look good And FFS build more hospitals.

Auckland is New Zealand’s economic engine and today we’ve backed it to go further. We’ve signed the country’s first-ever City Deal with Auckland Council. It’s a long-term partnership to unlock growth, build infrastructure, and lift living standards. This means getting on with the big stuff: delivering projects like the City Rail Link and Eastern Busway, planning for the next Waitematā Harbour crossing, and unlocking new housing and jobs in places like Drury and along the CRL corridor. It’s a more coordinated, more accountable way of working, focused on actually delivering results. Because when Auckland succeeds, New Zealand succeeds.

Off to Parliament today for my very last day as a Minister. I’m awaiting the moment of sadness but anticipate that I will simply be eternally grateful for the opportunity to serve New Zealand as a Minister in 4 terms of government. Many thanks to all.

Impacts from the Middle East conflict are being felt intensely in New Zealand, and across the broader Pacific. I was pleased to talk with Prime Minister of Fiji @slrabuka this evening to discuss the risks facing our region, given the importance of fuel imports for our economies and our location at the end of long supply chains. New Zealand and Fiji are aligned in our deep concern about the conflict, and the need for immediate de-escalation and negotiation.

@chrisluxonmp On 4 March 1855, shepherds searching for 1000 missing sheep in the upper reaches of the Waitaki Valley apprehended suspected rustler James Mackenzie, one of New Zealand’s first and most enduring folk heroes. This region was subsequently dubbed the Mackenzie Country.

Beyond me how the bus timetable doesn't connect to the train timetable. Then when there's a major concert on the last train is 10.45. So many workers standing around doing nothing too @AklTransport @AklCouncil @chrisluxonmp @MayorWayneBrown
