@AdamMarcea95748 @JoeySalads Because a NATO ally is allowing you, you fuckwit. That’s the point.
English

@jasondewar @JoeySalads Are all people from Europe this retarded or is it just you? We are currently building a base in Greenland for defense of that north Atlantic corridor because you morons never did. We have has the sosus warning net from back in the cold war we do not need defense we defend you
English

The UK and France are about to lose their Free Healthcare.
0HOUR1@0hour1
The US is considering cutting all defense deals with the UK and France.
English

@WarMonitor3 The U.S. relies on The U.K., Canada, Iceland and Denmark to protect its north and eastern coasts.
More so than Britain relies on the U.S. to protect our islands.
The only time we have been attacked, back in 1982, the US looked the other way.
English

NATO is done. The sooner Europe admits this, the more time it will have to prepare an alternative.
That could be creating an EU defence union. It could be repurposing NATO from a 🇺🇸protectorate into a European alliance.
Denying reality like Rutte isn't a plan, it's a delusion.
Jorge Liboreiro@JorgeLiboreiro
Marco Rubio slams Spain for denying access to military bases and says the United States will “reexamine” its relation with NATO after the war in Iran ends.
English

@mdefon @NileGardiner I’m not Muslim. I’m also absolutely not a Starmer voter. But he is right here. He should absolutely not be wildly sending our boys and girls into danger without proper justification and planning.
English

@NileGardiner Starmer is beholden to his Muslim
Voting block, see everything through that lens.
English

Starmer may have just broken Nato
European inaction in the face of the Iranian crisis proves what Americans have always feared of their fair-weather allies
telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/03/1…
English

@TheRealAndyHere @NileGardiner Listen, Obama had it right when he left office and said something will have to be done about Iran. And yes, what is happening now, probably needed to happen, and now is a good time, given the uprisings in Iran. But the fact remains that allies were not consulted.
English

Even if you think the US is totally wrong about, iran and you love under age marriage, and women abuse of the clerics. A half way smart European would realize this is the wrong time with China and RU acting up to end the friendship with the main super power of the world. But half way smart is not what they have for leaders.
English

@GoJodfrey @NileGardiner Great point. Where was the Big Bad US navy in 1982?
English

@NileGardiner Wars of choice outside the NATO area are exactly what the US has been very careful to avoid getting involved with,as you are a Thatcher fan, think Falklands
Much like Hawaii, the Falklands aren't in NATO,so the US stayed out if it
Iran was attacked by the US simple concept
English

@wastingmytime59 @NileGardiner @vanitawinkler Starmer has been insulting? What fucking planet are you on? Trump has been firing insults since the start of the year. We haven’t forget how he insulted our war dead from wars started by America.
English

@NileGardiner @vanitawinkler I wouldn’t blame Trump if he pulls America out. Starmer’s whole tone throughout has been insulting. Why throw good money after bad?
English

@Rian_Visser @NileGardiner The only time Article 5 was evoked it was by America and the rest of NATO rallied.
So shove your Trump brainwashed crap up your arse.
US starts wars in Iraq (twice) Afghanistan, and Kosovo and Korea, and Britain helps to keep them sensible and winnable.
English

@NileGardiner In all fairness, ahead of the war Donald Trump did say that he believed that they would never be able to depend on NATO countries to support the US in times of trouble. And, once again, he was right. This should be the end of US, UK and European relations. Permanently.
English

@bowen_boston @NileGardiner If you say so.
Don’t worry about the U.S. Northern border and east coast. I’m sure we will carry on protecting the North Atlantic Corridor for Americans.
English

@NileGardiner The US could save billions a year.
1) Europe defense is gone then.
2) the economies around the then former US bases would be a shambles.
But once again the US could save Billions a year.
English

@NileGardiner What poor “journalism”. Trump is the one breaking NATO. Starmer, as much as I despise his politics, is acting appropriately. Britain cannot just throw our military into a war of questionable legality, with no planning or preparation.
English

@glennbeck Glenn, if I may call you that. Firstly, as a Brit, I pay a lot more tax than you. Part of my tax goes to providing bases for USAFE. Part goes to defending the North Atlantic corridor that in turn protects the U.S. east coast.
It’s not us, it’s you who has changed.
English

France, Italy, Spain & more just blocked our military flights for the Iran war.
They don’t want us there? Perfect.
President Trump — bring our troops AND our nukes HOME from these failing NATO countries NOW.
Soon they’ll be Islamic nations anyway — they CANNOT have our nukes.
Let Europe defend itself.
Use the savings to root out DC corruption, pay our TSA & DHS, and give every American a HUUUUGE tax refund!
America First means America SAFE at home. Let’s go! 🇺🇸@realDonaldTrump
English

@DanielCreminGB Hold on. The damage that all other NATO members have done to their international standing? Or the damage Trump has don to America’s international standing. Trumps actions will have generational consequences.
English

@ThatTimWalker The big bad Royal Navy is Britains, not America’s. We use it to defend our national interests, not blindly follow madmen.
English

@MrLukeGeorge Hold up son, Trump went to war without a UN resolution, so an illegal war, and didn’t consult with the allies he now expects to join in.
When I was young, my mum used to say “if your friends put their head in the oven, would you?” America is putting its head in the oven.
English

@MikeNew19512115 Yes. NATO is a relic of a time when Russia was an aggressive anti democratic, war monger. Nothing like that these days eh?
English

@HilzFuld The war does not have a legal basis, and NATO were not consulted. You can’t just charge into a war and expect everyone to blindly follow.
English

@ukilaw The U.S. relies on NATO to protect its northern border and east coast.
There will still be a military alliance, with or without the U.S., but the U.S. will not benefit from those protections if it breaks NATO.
The only nation that would benefit would be Russia.
English

The end of America’s involvement in Iran marks the beginning of the end for NATO as we know it.
For decades, the US carried 60% of the burden while Western Europe freeloaded. Now, in active war:
• Spain & France blocked US airspace
• Germany sneered “not our war”
• Italy (Meloni) denied US planes Sicily bases
• Macron refused US arsenal overflight to Israel
• UK even denied Diego Garcia access
NATO is finished.
English

@0hour1 When did America Enter the war? Britain and the British Empire and our allies had already pushed Germany back from Notth Africa, and decimated the Luftwaffe. Hitler had already opened his Russian front.
We would have won in Europe without America. Maybe not in Asia.
English
