My constituent Andrea has been living with an untreated ovarian cyst the size of a softball while in ICE detention. Earlier this month, I went to El Paso to hear from her directly. She told me she is still in immense pain, and despite doctors familiar with her case confirming she needs surgery, ICE is still denying that fact.
Andrea’s story is a prime example of the cruelty and inhumane treatment detainees across our country are experiencing. We need to stop funding this out-of-control agency until serious reforms are implemented.
