@LiberallyLiving @mattyglesias We tax all kinds of things based on their use. Short term capital gains vs long term capital gains. Primary residences vs secondary residences or investment properties. Residential real property is taxes differently than commercial real property.

Once again this turns out to hinge on the fact that dogs aren’t people.
Groceries for humans is tax exempt in most states as an effort at progressivity, but dogs aren’t humans so the logic doesn’t apply to dog food.

Here’s a great chart from @arindube. Wage inequality increased throughout the post-1980 neoliberal era (especially bad under Reagan). But there was a big decline under Biden, whose presidency was vastly underrated and will one day be vindicated.

I am honestly not trying to throw shade because I like Adam Schefter personally and think he’s a good reporter. But he also violated a pretty sacred journalism standard. Over the course of a game any player at any position can be the most impactful.

@minakimes RB salaries reflect their shorter average careers and higher injury likelihood. Obviously that influences contract value, but doesn’t tell you that over the course of 1 game a B tier WR is more valuable than an A tier RB.
