Steps to help create peace of mind:🙏 -Focus on the end game. Don't allow yourself to be distracted by mistakes or set backs. -Empower yourself with hope. Strive and grow, even when the circumstances may not be what you would like them to be. (pg 299, Lifestyle Medicine Handbook)

A reminder for anyone who's a member of ACLM to vote for the Board of Directors positions today! There are a lot of great candidates. Be sure to make your voice heard and help select the future leaders of the college! @ACLifeMed @ACLMTrainees

We often cite the lack of Lifestyle Medicine training in undergraduate medicinal education. This is starting to change. I had the privilege of bringing a 2.5 hour Lifestyle Medicine session to 146 first year medical students at @EmoryMedicine last week, thanks to our Emory LMIG.

@_MissAmberRae_ Very fair point. Multiple people commented on this. Definitely didn't mean to be inconsiderate. This was for the "average joe" who stays up on Twitter (cough cough, guilty here!), not someone actually suffering from a sleep disorder. Insomnia is NOT fun!

@VinoliaNomtha Very fair point! Thank you for mentioning it. It was intended for folks like myself who find themselves on Twitter at midnight instead of in bed, not those who don't have the luxury to have that option. Sometimes, work and responsibilities need to take precedence as you said.

Humans are the first and only species to intentionally sleep deprive themselves. Perhaps a return to the fundamentals of healthy living, starting with a good nights sleep, might serve us better than we could have ever dreamed 💤 @ACLifeMed @healthyemory @SleepMedicine

@MNpolite I can't remember the last time I slept completely through the entire night. Babies, kids, and teenagers definitely have an advantage and we do get worse sleep as we age, though no one really knows exactly why.

@hahabg Couldn't agree more! I can't imagine what animals think of human behavior. Thankfully, my cat's will jump in my lap and swat at my face when they are being ignored. :-)

@MarcRubyDPT Totally fair point. This wasn't targeted towards those suffering from insomnia or other sleep ailments. More at the late-night workaholics (cough cough, guilty) who are on Twitter instead of sleeping!
