Update on the trade that got us Shane Bieber. At the trade deadline last year the Blue Jays made a shocker of a trade with the Guardians. The Toronto Blue Jays acquired Shane Bieber SP for Khal Stephen. At that time Stephen was top 10 prospect. So how is he doing this year?

Khal Stephen is pitching in AA. In his 4 starts he is 1-2 1.53 ERA in 17.2 IP. He has 20 Ks. Khal has a 1.415 WHIP and a 10.2Ks/9IP. We all know where Bieber is this year.

I'm not supportive of floor crossings. I'm not supportive of bringing in bigots to the liberal party just to get a majority. I'm not supportive of majority governments in general. Here's a challenge for you. Name a politician on the "other side" that you don't mind and may not entirely agree with, but can see some common ground and sensibilities within. I will go first. I think Erin O'Toole has some good takes sometimes and I while I absolutely don't agree with him always, I can at least find some common footing with him now.

Team Canada lost the Gold medal for 3 reasons that the Main Stream Media is way too scared to talk about. 1) Florida Panthers players Brad Marchand and Sam Bennet hid major injuries. Or they were known and still went. (Why?) 2) Doug Armstrong hates the Oilers so left the top scoring Canadian Defenceman and Left Winger (Bouchard and Hyman) off the roster. See offer sheet to Oilers players. 3) Doug Armstrong tried to pump the value of his own players (Parayko and Binnington) to trade them at the deadline. See trade rumours all season. When we are ready for these conversations around personal gain and selfishness we will be ready to compete for Gold again as a country.

@Ollieldjifod @CateSask Heck l, I live in Alberta and think a good portion of Albertans are complainers. We have the highest wages and best standard of living and yet a good portion of Albertans think they are being hard done by. I find it really annoying.

Absolutely howling listening to Albertans call into Cross Country Checkup today to explain Alberta separatism. Caller #1: “I want to separate because of the federal lockdowns.” Host: “Those were imposed and enforced by your provincial government.” Caller: dial-up modem noises Caller #2: “It’s about bank accounts being frozen.” Host: “So… the pandemic?” Caller: “Well they did it during the election too.” No. They. Didn’t. And this is the problem. These people skim one Facebook meme, skip the part where facts live, and suddenly think they’ve cracked Confederation. Also: I thought nobody listened to CBC? Weird how the entire ‘I don’t listen to CBC’ crowd somehow found the phone number, the time slot, and the courage to call in anyway. Nothing screams “do your own research” like confidently arguing with a national broadcaster using Facebook comments as footnotes.

All the Jays had to do was not miss on Tucker or Bellinger to have a good offseason and while the made a great offer to Tucker and were gracefully outbid, there is no good reason to miss out on Bellinger. Cease, Ponce, and Okamoto does not make them better in 2026.

@RealMichaelKay They added the best starying pitcher on the market, and Okamoto, and Cody Ponce, and they get Bieber for a full year and they get Yesavage for a full season. Barger has all the experience from last year and will be better.

Again, tell me how the Blue Jays got better. No one is answering that. And of course they’re flawed. Every team has flaws. Not hard to admit. Last near flawless team I saw was 1998 Yanks.

Dylan Cease is a fantastic signing. Tyler Rogers bolsters the bullpen significantly. Cody Ponce and Kazuma Okamoto are intriguing bets. But without Bichette or Tucker, this lineup isn’t going to be as good as it was last year and the offseason feels like a failure.
