@ThesisPi Why don't they understand that human civilization has only ever existed within a very narrow band of the complete range of mean global temperatures that has ever existed. Move past that narrow band (in either direction) and human civilization is pretty much doomed.

>single nation with the ability to disrupt the world economy >is now cutting corrupt deals with individual countries simply due to control of resources >resorting to military violence to enforce its will, even if that means killing their own citizens >cannot be reasoned with, ruled by a dictatorial maniac Pic unrelated, I’m talking about Donald Trump and his tariffs.

@wbridgefa @nejatian "Canada" would NOT make "so much money," unless the pipeline and oil were nationalized, and it would do almost nothing to "relieve so much stress globally."

Canada needs to build a pipeline. Fast. When the West faced an old shortage during World War II, the US built the Big Inch Pipeline. 1,200 miles of pipeline built in months. Crews laid 9 miles per day of pipeline - with 1942 technology. Northern Gateway has been in review since 2006 (20+ years). Northern Gateway is about half the length of Big Inch. We have much better technology than we used to. Let's just build!

@nejatian So you want the government to pay tens of billions of dollars for this so that private oil companies can roll in even more profit? Or are you advocating to nationalize the oil industry in conjunction with this?

On the eve of ‘91 Col Hackworthy predicted the Marines would “Knock the snot” out of the best Iraqi troops and that is exactly what happened. Training, equipment, intelligence and air cover produce very one sided pitched battles, but the “rub” is in the cleanup thru occupation. This has to be avoided. If we find a non Ayatollah faction in the regular Iran army to support, then we have a chance.

I'm old enough to remember the Gulf Wars of 1991 and 2003. At the time, the doom-mongers amongst us suggested that any land attack against Saddam Hussein's forces, especially his elite Republican Guard units, would end in disaster. They said we would sustain unacceptable casualties, that oil prices would spike, and the world economy would be plunged into recession. But Operation Desert Storm was an outstanding success. George Bush Sr. could have so easily driven to Baghdad to remove Saddam from power. But he left that job to his son. Today, with Iran, I'm seeing all of the same fears being recycled. Sure, Iran has a more capable military than Iraq had and is better prepared to resist a US attack. So, yes, it will likely take longer to dismantle the regime. But the fact that factions within Iran have requested talks shows that results are being achieved. This won't be a "forever war. " What makes sensible discussion about this difficult is what some people are calling "Trump Derangement Syndrome." The idea that someone so outspoken, bombastic, and egotistical as DJT could possibly do something good is anathema to his enemies. They hate the idea that Trump could succeed - by ridding the world of a major sponsor of terrorism and a regime that has slaughtered thousands of its own people - so much, that they happily defend the Ayatollah. I make no comment pro or against Trump. Instead, I note that any Western power might try to do the same thing if it had the means. Of course, it could go wrong, and it could take longer. And, yes, DJT could have consulted his allies first, and, yes, we can review his approach later, and suggest a different course of action, but sometimes the ends justify the means.

To the guy who held the door for me and then followed me a few steps before stopping on the sidewalk and calling out "I'm not trying to be weird, I just, uh, think I'm parked next to you. You go ahead!" and then waited for me to drive off. Sir, may you only encounter green lights. May pizza never burn the roof of your mouth. May you awaken every day with a restored spirit. Absolute king behavior 🙌🏻 To every man wondering if it's weird to say something like this, please make it weirder and safer every time. We thank you.

@deltablues11 @ClimateRealists @grok You've just demonstrated your ignorance again. Why do you keep doing this? Because you don't know basic climate science. P.S. It's past 1.5 C now (and climbing). Here's something to ponder: the last global ice age started with a temperature drop of 4C. You're clueless.

A peer-reviewed study finds that most of the temperature rise observed over the past century in the US isn't from greenhouse gases, but instead from roads, buildings and parking lots. By comparing raw US temperature data from stations in areas with different population densities, the study found that 65% of the warming since 1895 is explained by the urban heat island effect, and another 8% by urban growth into once-rural areas. That's nearly three quarters of the warming. No CO2 involved. Crucially, NOAA's adjusted data hides this effect. 'Homogenization' smooths it out, a process the study's author, Dr Roy Spencer, calls "urban blending". It's not global warming. It's urbanization.

@deltablues11 @ClimateRealists @grok So, a short duration blast of 20 million tons of SO2 can produce global cooling, but 2,700X as much CO2e EVERY YEAR doesn't affect the planet's climate? I honestly hope you're getting paid for these posts, because I'd hate to think that people are actually that ignorant.2/2

@deltablues11 @ClimateRealists @grok It's almost like for most of that time, human beings weren't emitting obscene anounts of climate-warming GHGs. The Krakatoa volcanic explosion in the 1880s produced 20 million tons of SO2 and a short period of global cooling. Last year alone we emitted 54Gtons of CO2e. 1/2

Over the last 3 million years, scientists have discovered that temperatures jumped about all over the place but the CO2 level remained static. More scientific work for Net Zero nutters to avoid, or try to explain away. My latest article for the Daily Sceptic.

New evidence from Antarctica ice cores showing no link between CO2 and temperature over the last three million years has stumped Net Zero activists, says Chris Morrison. dailysceptic.org/2026/03/25/sho…

This is an absurd argument. Because the quantity of CO2 is so little, it cannot cause global warming. A tiny coronavirus that you cannot even see with a naked eye can kill, a tiny amount of cynide can kill. And your other climate science deniers are saying that this tiny amount is making the planet green. The CO2 is too little to cause global warming, but this tiny amount is enough to make the whole planet more green. This is a fact that this tiny amount is all you need to keep the planet warm at 15 degrees C. If all this tiny amount were removed, the planet would be very very cold at -21 degrees C.

You miss the point. Megatonnes of CO2 causes half a degree difference in temperature world wide. No local evidence CO2 has even increased. Because it barely absorbs any sunlight. One cloud of water has the ability to absorb sunlight so well that it can change local temperature instantly. Showcasing the difference between a shit greenhouse gas like CO2 and a powerful one like water. One volcano erupted under the ocean in Tonga in 2020 and made a noticeable spike in greenhouse effect for four years. CO2 has been pumped out for 200 years and no one has really noticed.
