This is historic and hard-fought progress—but our work is not done. Any life lost to violence in our city is one too many. I want to thank the brave men and women of @BaltimorePolice, our community violence intervention ecosystem, @OAGMaryland, @BaltimoreMONSE, @BaltimoreSAO, and most importantly, our residents for their collective work to make our neighborhoods safer than they've been in decades. Now is the time to go even further: to expand the strategies that are working, to strengthen the partnerships that have gotten us to this point, and to maintain our focus on saving lives. My team and I are just as committed to this work today as we have been since day one.

Earlier this month, we announced additional funding to expand our 9-1-1 Diversion infrastructure. Ensuring that we are delivering the right response at the right time for every call. Thank you again to the best Federal Delegation in the country for making this possible and for always believing in Baltimore.
Kweisi Mfume@RepKweisiMfume

I was joined by Mayor Brandon Scott and City Council President Zeke Cohen to announce more than $1 million in funding to expand Baltimore City's 911 emergency diversion program. The funding will embed more clinicians at call centers and provide crisis intervention training for officers to ensure that every 911 call gets the most appropriate response. #Baltimore wmar2news.com/news/region/ba…

It's stories like Ms. Patricia that remind us why this work is so important. It is about showing up when it matters the most and investing in real solutions that prevent other families from experiencing this type of loss. Solutions that address the root causes of violence. Solutions that hold gun companies accountable. Solutions that bring trusted voices into conflicts. Solutions that help people change their lives and choose a better path. While we’ve made real progress, our work is not done. We will continue this work, block by block.

.@MayorBMScott talking about his 2027 budget: "Many of these rec centers are in neighborhoods where redlining was first used… we're now putting historic amounts of money into those neighborhoods that were purposefully disinvested in, that's where it should go."

Baltimore has seen nearly a 60% drop in murders since 2022. A turnaround like this doesn’t happen by accident. @MayorBMScott joined the @RTCrimeIndex’s Jeff-alytics podcast to discuss how Baltimore is leading the way and building a safer city for all its residents.

Stopped by Baltimore’s 311 Call Center to thank the teams behind every call spent connecting our residents to the services that they need. I want to shoutout Ms. Wanda who has spent over 25 years keeping our city moving! Happy #311Day, Baltimore!

Some of you have asked, “why aren’t we melting the snow”. Here’s the answer, we are. Our crews are still out working around the clock to remove and clear our neighborhoods.

Baltimore, we are now in the hauling phase of snow removal. Our crews are working 24/7 to remove this ice off of our streets and out of our communities. While there is still much to do. We won’t stop until it is done. @BaltimoreCAO has the details.

When our city needed support, these young men picked up a shovel and answered the call to help their neighbors. And so can you, sign up and volunteer to help a neighbor: mon.baltimorecity.gov/baltimore-snow….

I've covered Baltimore when murders were spiking but today I cover it as murders are down to an almost 50-year low. While one life is still too many, "This is Baltimore's victory and we're showing folks how to reduce violence the right way," @MayorBMScott tells me.

Good question, great answer. I always say that the people who are closest to the problem are closest to the solution and that’s exactly the culture shift we’re seeing right now across Baltimore.
