While the article suggests the model would cost insurers billions, a study published in @JAMANetwork  finds the opposite—sharing that the model would generate savings to offset the cost of treating up to 3.6 million additional Medicare beneficiaries. On my fourth attempt, I was elected by my peers to be the next Vice President of the @ASMBS, a group of tireless surgeons and integrated health professionals dedicated to treating metabolic disease with the best treatment for it -- bariatric surgery. I want to thank my good friends Matt Brengman and Colleen Kennedy for a great race. I look forward to working with them and all of the great people on the Board of Directors for the next 5 years.
