@antoguerrera Let's be honest @AngelaRayner knew she was cleared and didn't say anything. When it looked like @wesstreeting is about to go over the top she pops up and announces there is no reason she can't run. I have no doubt she has had that card ready. Now @AndyBurnhamGM thinks he's jn

What happened. Two days ago, Wes didn’t have the numbers. So, between Tue-Wed, around the King’s Speech, his “allies” spread the word about a possible challenge to the PM by Streeting, in order to attract more MPs. Meanwhile, Wes tries to get sacked by Starmer and play the victim card. Starmer doesn’t take the bait. Wes realistically reached 81 MPs earlier today. But after possibly winning the challenge without Burnham, his leadership would have been seriously damaged from the start, together with his reputation. So, to keep alive his chances to become PM, since Starmer didn’t sack him, Wes decides to resign and wait for Burnham. It’s the only way to get some legitimacy and credibility to reach the target: becoming PM and party leader. So, we’re back to square one. +100 MPs and some cabinet ministers asking Starmer to resign, in order to take him off the contest. But the PM doesn’t want to resign because he is keen to fight. Unless a major cabinet revolt in the next hours, the most likely scenario is: - Everyone is waiting for Burnham - Afterwards, someone triggers the contest with 81 MPs - Battle for leadership with Starmer in. But things are very fluid. Footnote: all this happened on the day that the UK grows better than any other G7 country (+0.6%) and the NHS has cut waiting lists at levels never matched in the last 17 years. Insane.

I joined the Labour Party in 1993. I know exactly how rare Labour governments are, and how hard they are to win. What some colleagues seem to forget is that the public voted against chaos, ego and endless internal psychodrama. They wanted seriousness back in government. Keir Starmer rebuilt Labour from electoral ruin into a party trusted enough to govern again. That didn’t happen by accident. It took discipline, resilience and political maturity. Do we need debate? Of course we do. But destabilising a Labour government barely into office after 14 years out of power is not strategy. It is recklessness. Too many people in politics love the theatre of rebellion more than the responsibility of governing. The country is exhausted by that culture. Labour succeeds when it focuses on delivery, stability and improving people’s lives — not when it disappears into factional self-indulgence while Reform and the Tories sit back and laugh. Government is precious. We should start acting like it.

@mikemaca @jdwmfc Agree, especially given the run we have been on. I know you beat us heavily previously but, surely the team and coaching staff would’ve felt they were in a position to take on anyone at this point. it’s not a great look.

Sick of hearing what info could be got by an Intern with a phone. Well here we go:- Last week EFL player of the year, Hayden Hackney was injured. Rumours circulating that he may be fit for the play offs. If all he did was see with his own eyes, that Hackney was not involved in training, then a competitive advantage has been gained. That information alone would help their preparation regardless of anything else #Boro

@jdwmfc @thehoist6 What I will say is, if we have to compensate Boro, maybe use it to build some fences 😂

Since spygate began I never had any involvement with Saints fans, but recently I have never seen a bunch of fans so deluded and blaming everyone but themselves in this whole saga. Hellberg said he felt sorry for the fans and I agreed, not anymore

I reckon this is probably an arse covering exercise from The EFL. If the hearing is taking place on the 19th they aren’t gunna kick us out 4 days before the final. That would cause pandemonium. #saintsfc

@NorthamSaints Ok if I accept that an iPhone from 200 years is pointless. Then why did they send him.

All this fuss because #boro bottled being in the top 2 for 200 days and then won just 2 from their last 12 games. An iPhone from 200 yards away did fuck all and you know it. Just milking it because you couldn’t finish your chances, the 1st leg in which we apparently had the advantage for, you should have been 3-0 up by half time, yet you weren’t, you were horrendous Tuesday night aswell, this is why you are not in the final. Not because a young lad with an iPhone 200 yards away, but because you’re simply not good enough. You lost fair and square #saintsfc

@thehoist6 The interactions I have had with Boro fans have been joviel. I agree the spy in eden is poor for and we deserve proportional punishment and bans for anyone involved. I was there for the bus arrival also and the atmosphere and wholey disagree with objects being thrown

@jdwmfc @Rio940607449116 Whoever is provably involved should be sacked including Tonda. Doesn’t mean that we should be booted out though.

@joemcindoe92 I never said it was enough to kick you out. I was trying to state to the idiots that are saying you can’t gain an advantage by sending a spy you quite clearly can

@RalphInUEFA @Rio940607449116 If Boro had done this I'd be calling for their heads. If you get promoted everyone will think you're cheats who don't deserve to be there.

Here’s the difference. Leeds get caught spying, £200k fine. Southampton get caught spying, potentially removing us from a £180m football match and further TV and sponsorship money. The punishment difference is so vast, I can’t believe it’s even being considered. #saintsfc

@RalphInUEFA @Rio940607449116 What so you cheat on I've league, get promoted, enjoy the multi millions and all the other benefits and then maybe get relegated. In a different league in a different year. Yeah that makes sense

@jdwmfc @Rio940607449116 And if we are deducted points next year that lead to our relegation I won’t complain. Because that’s a reasonable punishment for the offence.

@RalphInUEFA if we get kicked out and potentially lose out on 200 million then it is the biggest sanction pretty much in EFL history and in English football history, especially for what it is I can’t see it happening and especially with them giving the greenlight for Saints to sell tickets

@PhilBargewell @EFL_Comms @SouthamptonFC I know, but the levels of punishments are - a fine, points, expulsion/other, for the most severe. A lad with a phone is the bottom rung, so give them a fine and move on.
