When I have gone down to Fells and its environs , I have counted what must be close to a dozen public parking garages. Then add garages for hotel guests , commercial , and residential tenants.
William Washington@OliverStrawhat

There really needs to be serious consideration of banning vehicle traffic in Fells. It wasn't designed for the heavy weekend traffic and there is mass transit in the area. thebanner.com/culture/food-d…

@OliverStrawhat @jedweeks Safety first! Can just close streets below Lancaster. And finally fix the Belgian block so streets are passable for pedestrians, strollers, bikes, scooters etc. The businesses will find its better for business.

Myth Busted: Less than half the states the seceded even mentioned slavery as a cause for leaving. The ones that did mentioned it as one of many reason. The idea that slavery was a major factor is a myth.
Ian@IanMWolfe

@DFish4040 @BaltimoreBanner And Lincoln said that if he could preserve the union by preserving slavery, he would. That doesn’t change the fact that the sectional crisis had the slave question at its core.

Our former Bikemore board secretary's Roland Park bike bus is rapidly growing, and @1stDistrictMark is leading a small and mighty group from Highlandtown. Our family biking organizer is helping Armistead Gardens, Hampden, Medfield, and Reservoir Hill. thebanner.com/community/tran…

@kekeaisha @IanMWolfe Absolutely should have some basic requirements to be a recognized neighborhood association like clear bylaws, elections, evidence of membership, and defined outreach requirements. Three orgs claim to represent my neighborhood and only one has elections (and term limits).

@IanMWolfe And proof they at least do community outreach, door knocking, or attempt to speak to neighbors…at all.

@ron_cassie This afternoon a VA tagged guy told me to "get the fuck out the road" while accelerating at me when I was crossing in a crosswalk with the walk sign.

@jedweeks Watched a VA temporary tagged car blatantly run a red light past a line of stopped cars today in West Baltimore today. Then, of course, saw another do the same thing right behind it. smh

Happy Bike to Work Week! This morning, we joined @mayorbmscott and @bmorecitydot to announce a city commitment to construct and improve 17 miles of all-ages bike lanes and trails over the next 3 years. This could more than double the protected mileage the city has today.

@BaltBizRE @BaltBizOnline The committee didn’t mention this project at all that I noticed. What justifies the framing that they’re trying to “block” it?

I do not want a walkable city. I do not want trains. I do not want busses. I want a car that can take me anywhere I want at any time. I don't want to be dependent on transit schedules. I want to choose who I'm traveling with, rather than going for luck of the draw. I want to be able to control my own climate while traveling. I want to be guaranteed a comfortable seat. I want somewhere to keep my things during a day out instead of having to carry everything with me. I want to buy and take home loads of groceries too big to carry without having to trouble myself with delivery services. I want to go through drive thrus. I want to be halfway home from work and impulsively decide to go to a restaurant on the other side of town and just change direction immediately. I want to drive around a new city to take in more than I could on foot or on a fixed route. I want to do road trips where we make up our journey as we go. I want to explore my own city at will without any particular plan. I want to visit small towns out of reach of even the most expansive proposed public transit systems. Essentially, I want freedom.
