Notre Dame lost to N Illinois at home last year & ended up with just 1 win vs a team in the CFP top 25 prior to the playoff & the committee ranked them 5th. Bama has wins over #4, #14, #20 & #22 and the committee won’t rank them above ND because of week 1 vs FSU? Insane.

Interesting note: According to ESPN, BYU has a higher strength of schedule than Notre Dame and Ole Miss and better strength of record than Texas, Oklahoma and Notre Dame. Typically, strength of record tends to correlate best to CFP Rankings. It does in this case... except BYU.

For my non ball knower ND fans. Strength of Record is more important than strength of schedule. Tech leads at 9 while ND is at 13. SOS would mean Florida should be in the playoffs. You still have to win

I understand unranked wins don’t matter when it comes to CFP, but I think you’re crazy for assuming your 1 win against USC was more impressive than wins against Mizzou & LSU. I will raise the bar. Any 10-2 P4 team should make the CFP over a 10-2 Notre Dame. Join a conference.
