Pathetic powerplay. Just won't settle for anything less than a highlight reel goal. Have to overpass. Second chance for them to put the Avs away and they can't do it.

Zach Hyman and Evan Bouchard were not picked for Team Canada, which is, frankly, a bad joke. Team Canada spebnt Four Nations tournament looking for the right linemate for McDavid and never did find that player. Why not go with the winger who has had more success than anyone with McDavid and was also the best forechecking winger in the 2025 playoffs until he got hurt?

Really encouraging game by the Oiler skaters on the whole. Repeat those games and they win lots of them with some saves. Felt like it could easily be 5-3 Oiler win with an empty net goal.

@DNBsports “Team defence” is an interesting way to say never ever get a save. If the same game is played by both teams and we get a few saves and win 5-3 with an empty better the headline is “Oilers defence bounce back”

The Oilers lose 7-4 in Washington to fall to 2-3 on their seven-game road trip and 9-9-4 on the season. Their last regulation win: Oct. 28 vs. Utah. Team defence has been a mess for the Oilers most of the season, and it did them in tonight.

@drshnuckels Heiskanen just came back from injury lol and got 2 points in three games. And is one of the top 5 D in the league. Bouchard is awful defensively, and Oilers fans know that lol. Klingberg is a liability defensively too.
