@amandacarpenter Unfortunately every police dept and sheriff’s office (not to mention all the militias) have a lot of military-type equipment and capacity. They’ve been building it for years. The military isn’t necessary in the same way it would have been in days past.

Black men vote overwhelmingly Democratic and have overwhelmingly supported both women who have run for President. Black male voters should be held up as a standard by the Democratic Party of what it looks like for men to support women electorally. Black men are socialized in the same patriarchal society as all men, yet have overwhelmingly supported women running for President. If Democrats want to discuss misogynistic voting patterns, Black men should be the last on the list.
