It’s perplexing to see Hong run such an unabashedly socialist campaign in a swing state without any real effort to moderate her image. If there’s a Democrat most likely to fall short in a wave year, it’s probably her.
Francesca Hong For Governor@FrancescaHongWI

New York City elected a socialist mayor, and the Knicks won their first championship in 53 years. Imagine what we could do with a socialist governor in Wisconsin? @packers @Brewers @Bucks

@jenglarc @krus_chiki @Jay_JayLuvsYa It started way before the administration. Caisson guys in DC lost a couple horses due to over crowding and low funding and it made CNN. Made the Army stop and evaluate its horse program that DC didn't even know it had with a microscope. Irony is, teams shut down passed inspection

One of the cooler things the communists would do was put thousands of their soldiers in historical uniforms for movies to create scale we haven’t seen since and will likely never see again
Aristocratic Fury@LandsknechtPike

The most imposing depictions of Ottoman Empire you're ever going to find on screen can be found in Romanian movies filmed during communist times. A compilation of clips of Ottoman army invading from the movie Stephen the Great - Vaslui 1475 (1975), featuring thousands of extras.

@krus_chiki @Jay_JayLuvsYa There *was* 6 historical horse detachments in the Army, each depicting a different era from the Civil war up to around WW1. But the army last year ordered the shutdown of all but 2 , the one at Riley and Hood.

@goawaymossad @exactlyindeed @DeliaRamirezFan So the issue is that they don’t want to insure those areas unless they can spike rates for it. State caps the amount rates can be increased year over year, meaning there’s no reason companies would want to insure here, bc they will never even break even.

@exactlyindeed @DeliaRamirezFan Isn’t the problem that insurance companies don’t wanna insure high wildfire risk areas? How is that the insurance companies faults?

@nikicaga Tbh as a public health expert I’d expect him to know better than regurgitating slop. I mean healthcare reform at this point is doa unless it’s prescription drug reform, which has some movement.

@jenglarc Yeah Americans often don't understand Healthcare policy very well, especially when it comes to M4A. Regardless its probably not happening, but M4A advocates would almost certainly support a good public option too

@nikicaga Ehh, he clearly has the right intentions which is good, but M4A is def not the “best outcome”

@InkyP412269 @metr0politics Absolutely! But places like Germany, Argentina, New Zealand, etc would not have the wine markets and industries they do nowadays if not for the monopoly being shattered! It’s really a fascinating subject

@jenglarc @metr0politics that's fair but "there would be no non-French wines" is not true, there are many places with traditional wines

I generally don’t mind the French but the story of the 1976 Judgement of Paris has got to be one of the funniest patriotic stories of all time and also opened the way for other countries to garner respect and prestige on the international wine market

finally someone typed it all out lol but saying America has zero culture is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. One edit tho is that wine is also part of American culture bc there would be no non-French wines if America hadn't broken the cultural monopoly in 1976

@InkyP412269 @metr0politics Yes but they didn’t herald the same prestige as French wines. Prior to this, other non-French wines were “good” but a French wine would always beat them out due to the prestige factor.

@DJBranham Governor is frankly not that influential on the issues California has. The people you should be mad with are the legislature, as they have been dragging their feet on issues like housing for years.
