This awful incident — a likely Latino man stabbing a Jewish man & an Asian man while allegedly shouting “Allahu Akbar” on the Upper West Side — is simultaneously: Frightening and depressing. Almost certainly an antisemitic hate crime. Quite likely an anti-Asian hate crime. Probably a mental health issue. Definitely reason to feel grateful to Manhattan Shomrim, the NYPD, and the grace of God that both men are likely to recover. Not the fault of the Mayor for calling Netanyahu a war criminal. A good reason for people who liked the Mayor’s video to take the fears of Jewish neighbors more seriously. NYC DOT only oversees the contract, but defective brakes on an individual bike are a Citi Bike/Lyft maintenance failure. This is just a rage bait and trying to get impressions…
