@PoliceNG Much better. Everyone who was there is culpable. They made no attempt to stop him. One even helped him fix his jammed rifle. They had the opportunity to stop him, but they never did. There's a reason why they're a team. Someone is expected to always have better judgment.

FORCE LEADERSHIP ORDERS DISMISSAL,PROSECUTION OF OFFICERS INVOLVED IN EFFURUN SHOOTING The Nigeria Police Force hereby provides an update on the disciplinary actions taken following the fatal shooting incident of 26th April 2026 in Effurun, Delta State, which resulted in the death of Mr Mene Ogidi. Sequel to the earlier directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, all officers connected to the incident were immediately withdrawn from the Delta State Command and transferred to Force Headquarters, Abuja, where they were subjected to expedited disciplinary proceedings. The Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC), alongside other internal disciplinary processes, has concluded its review. Findings established unequivocally that the principal officer, ASP Nuhu Usman, acted in gross violation of Force Order 237 and other extant regulations governing the use of firearms. His actions were unlawful, unprofessional, and a clear betrayal of the oath to protect life and uphold the law. Consequently, the FDC has recommended the immediate dismissal of ASP Nuhu Usman and other officers found culpable. The Inspector-General of Police has approved the recommendations and forwarded same to the Police Service Commission for ratification in line with due process. Upon completion of the administrative procedures, the affected officers will be handed over to the appropriate judicial authorities for prosecution for their roles in the extrajudicial shooting. The Inspector-General of Police reiterates, in the strongest terms, that the Nigeria Police Force maintains a zero-tolerance stance on extra-judicial actions and abuse of power. No uniform confers the right to take life outside the provisions of the law. Any officer who violates this fundamental principle will face the full weight of disciplinary and legal consequences. The IGP extends his deepest and most solemn condolences to the family of the deceased, Mr Mene Ogidi. He acknowledges the pain and loss suffered and assures the family that this tragic incident will not be treated lightly. The Force is fully committed to ensuring that justice is not only served but seen to be served, in a manner that reinforces public confidence and institutional accountability. Members of the public are urged to remain calm and law-abiding, as the Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its commitment to discipline, professionalism, and the protection of the rights and dignity of all citizens while ensuring accountability at all levels. This gist is crazy 😳 This couple just got married a few months ago, and one day, while the wife was checking her husband’s phone, she came across videos of him with different girls. She was shocked to see her best friend, who was one of her bridesmaids, having an affair with her husband. The friend and her husband even took pictures in her matrimonial home. It was said that the wife had gone to another state for her brother’s wedding when the husband brought her best friend to their house. As if that was not enough, the best friend and the husband went ahead and took mirror pictures in the house. The wife then h@cked her husband’s Instagram account and started posting videos of him with different girls on his page. The husband has now deactivated his Instagram account, but people had already screen recorded the videos. The best friend, who is the side chick, seems unbothered, as she is throwing subs on TikTok. What are your thoughts?

@RukaRukky @OkahEwahEdede I'm curious as to why only one person is being held accountable, considering the others did nothing to prevent the execution. There was ample time for them to intervene, from when the rifle jammed till he fixed it. But they all waited like they were eager for him to get it done.

My thoughts are with the family affected by the Effurun incident. May they find strength and comfort during this difficult time. No life should be lost to avoidable actions. Force Order 237 exists for a reason and compliance is not optional.

@WithoutHistory @OluwatobiAjayiJ While the IMF & WB aren't saints, it's pointless to blame them for the corruption of African leaders. We had our opportunity with the PIB, we could have mandated each IOC to build a refinery of a stipulated minimum capacity. Instead it got watered down via bribes, allegedly.

Guess who is opposing Dangote’s proposal to build a 1.2M barrels a day refinery in east Africa (Tanzania, Kenya and Congo) World Bank and IMF. : ))) Their argument? it would give monopoly to one company over energy. 1) All the while, French refineries are in almost every oil producing countries in Africa. 2) No African countries could get a loan to build a refinery larger than 400,000 barrels per day (one of the most profitable businesses ever). So the majority are small and struggle for profitability. 3) Nigeria oil had to be exported to Europe, refined and in many cases sold back to Nigeria and ECOWAS countries, under companies like shell and total. 4) it took until a billionaire financed the refinery in Nigeria himself to change part of that production and supply pipeline. And today, after the Hormuz blockade, EU countries are now buying oil from Dangote.

@Princemoye1 I think, for the sake of fairness and justice, you have to hold all other members of the team culpable for doing nothing to stop that execution. And you have to show the face, being that it was visible in the circulating video. That's the only way the public trusts the process.

DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE EFFURUN SHOOTING INCIDENT: DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS, TRANSFERS OFFICER RESPONSIBLE TO FORCE HEADQUARTERS TO FACE DISCIPLINARY ACTION As CP condoles with family, friends and concerned members of the public, and assures them of justice The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, has condemned in strong terms the extra-judicial killing of a suspect, one Mene Ogidi, aged 28 years, which occurred on 26th April 2026 in Effurun, Delta State. The unfortunate incident occurred when operatives attached to Area Command Effurun received credible intelligence from members of the public regarding the deceased, who was reportedly apprehended while attempting to waybill a parcel containing a Beretta pistol with four rounds of ammunition. Police operatives were promptly deployed to the scene to take the suspect into custody. However, the police officer leading the team, ASP Nuhu Usman, in clear violation of Force Order 237 and the Standard Operating Procedure of the Nigeria Police Force, discharged his firearm, leading to the death of the suspect. Upon receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police directed the Area Commander, Effurun, to immediately arrest ASP Nuhu Usman and transfer him to the State Headquarters, Asaba, for necessary disciplinary action. The officer has since been queried and transferred to Force Headquarters, Abuja, where he will appear before the Force Disciplinary Committee, currently in session, for immediate disciplinary sanction and prosecution. The Command, in line with the policy of the Nigeria Police Force, emphasizes respect for the rule of law, human rights, professionalism, accountability and public trust. The Command further reaffirms its zero tolerance for lawlessness, recklessness and extra-judicial conduct. The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, extends his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, Mene Ogidi, and assures the bereaved family that the Command is fully committed to ensuring that justice is served. The CP hereby appeals to members of the public to remain calm and law-abiding, as all necessary steps are being taken to bring the culprit to justice. SP. @SirJarus That's what I've come to recognize as the Mainland-Island dichotomy. But it's safe to assume the Ajah houses would attract a higher price tag than the Ketu ones. That should offset construction cost differentials.

We have a project in Ketu, Mainland and another one in Badore, Ajah, Island. Both are at a stage we need granites. Cost per truck of 30 tons of granites to site: - Ketu: N500k - Ajah: N675k Same quantity, 35% price difference. Furious when both got to my table for approval, I bypassed the procurement/project team and called the suppliers themselves. Finding 1. There are no rocks in Lagos (I knew) so the Ketu supplier sources from a quarry in Abeokuta while the Ajah supplier sources from quarries in Ijebu. Ijebu is closer to Ajah while Abeokuta is closer to Ketu. 2. More significantly, they incure more "road settlement costs" on Ijebu-Ajah route than Abeokuta-Ketu, large part of which is express road. 3. The Ijebu-Ajah supplier also complained of diesel cost, as Ajah-Ijebu road is prone to traffic (= higher fuel need) than Abeokuta-Ketu. When we asked whether the Abeokuta/Ketu supplier can just supply to Ajah, he said he also cannot deliver for less than N650k. Not much difference to change supplier for. Now, if we need 15 trucks of granites for a simple 5-terrace house in Ketu and Ajah, we will spend N7.5m on granites for Ketu project and N10.13m for Ajah project. Same construction, same city, different cost for same material quantity.

This is the worrisome and problematic passage in the controversial ‘educational book’ that Mrs Mary Queen Udoka reviewed. Is there a moral lesson in this passage? Is this passage suitable and appropriate for Nursery school pupils? Is this passage grammatically correct? Does this passage not promote violence and animal cruelty? Who approved this book for nursery school pupils? Why is the Police meddling in this matter? Arrogant and reckless business owners who have refused to respect consumer rights will continue to pay dearly for their callousness.

The provision of these welfare buses to be conveying police officers to and from the FHQ to their various barracks and houses is a welcome development. This initiative of the IGP is laudable, passionate and historic. The last time such buses were made available to convey personnel was the time of former IGP MD Abubakar, to the best of my knowledge. This is a good omen. Thanks to the IGP for prioritising police welfare. Ire o. @PoliceNG @PoliceNG_CRU @aleeygiwa @DeltaPoliceNG

Cos Nigeria has a $2.3trillion infrastructure deficit. Nigeria is also one of the lowest taxed countries in the world. On very good years, the highest we make from oil revenue is $25Billion. This means if we rely on oil & taxes alone, it will take us about 200 years to catch up.

He was standing at his post, doing his job, and he never came home. On 18th April 2026, Inspector Habila Mangai was carrying out a lawful stop-and-search along the Owerri-Okigwe Road in Imo State. He was right where he was meant to be, doing the job he promised to do. A Mack truck hit him. He was taken quickly to the Federal Medical Centre in Owerri, but he did not survive. Inspector Habila Mangai was part of the Isiala Mbano Division. He was on duty at Amaraku Junction, a place where his community knew and respected him, and where they will now mourn his loss. The driver and vehicle are now in custody. The State Motor Traffic Department has started a full investigation. Justice will be served fully and according to the law. IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, offers his deepest condolences to Inspector Habila's family, colleagues, and everyone in the Imo State Police Command. His sacrifice will not be in vain. To all motorists in Nigeria: Officers at checkpoints and duty posts are humans too. They are sons, fathers, husbands, and colleagues. Please slow down, follow traffic rules, and respect their lives. Inspector Habila Mangai, your community showed us your true character. They mourned you even before we could speak. Rest in honor, gallant officer.
