They call her “Mama-la”. Teenagers do not given kind and loving nicknames without receiving that. Being a step parent is a difficult job, you have to tread a line between possible trusted adult in a young person’s life and parent-like figure without overstepping.

During summer school, my Ss were reading Holes by Louis Sachar. My middle school Ss were invested & engaged. I even had 1 admit they have never read an entire book, ask if there was a sequel. I showed them Small Steps, Armpit's story. They are now reading that novel. #teacherwin

@jamielynn261982 Well, I suppose as long as all versions of the Bible are available, he might have the “historical” document part right. Oh except that major change in translation to Leviticus in 1946… I cannot stand these tactics to force Christianity. Hope they let the Quran and Torah in too.

@sweetiepieaims @LSthirdact @isthat_kt @daisyloux3 It definitely does depend on the judge or even the day of the week w a judge who was in favor once but now irritated over it. It is really a judgment call either way - I’ve been in both positions. Where the judge sided w me & where the judge chastised me - same judge. 🤷🏻‍♀️

When I decided I was ready to introduce my kids to my bf, I was very open with their dad and let him know and made sure he was okay with it. Today he texts me and says they “accidentally” met his “friend” today at his house. I feel like that’s not the way this works?

@daisyloux3 Wow… imagine thinking that staying in a marriage/relationship for the sake of the child/ren actually worked out to be a healthy example of a relationship. Wonder how many ppl wouldn’t be FUBAR’ed if their parents had just separated instead of stayed married & hated each other.

@itsalwayswenz @isthat_kt @daisyloux3 You can, but those things aren’t enforceable. They exist in parenting plans but no one can do anything about them. You can’t have the child/ren un-meet someone bc the co-parent didn’t follow the rules. All you can do is adjust.

@isthat_kt @daisyloux3 Actually... that's not entirely true. You can have meeting guidelines put in your parenting plan. Also if the person has any kind of violence/abuse background you can file a motion of you truly believe your kids aren't safe. There's a lot you just have to take. But not always.

This is the hardest part about co-parenting. Then supporting the children through it… occasionally things turn ugly or you can tell the other person doesn’t like your kid. You have to be strong for your child & not put them in the middle of grown folks’ business. It’s not fun.

Here’s the thing that co-parents don’t wanna accept, but is true.. You cannot stop your co-parent from bringing people around those kids when you aren’t there. You may not like it. Yall may have an agreement. It may be a “get back” method.. Either way, you can’t stop them. Best you can do is make sure yall are at least having good enough judge of character to not bring predators or abusers around. Beyond that, the topic is truly pointless cause you can’t do shit about it but talk and hope they listen.

@StrictlyChristo Drag is a performance, an opportunity to dance and sing/sync & dress up. This woman is so uneducated & really hateful. Are there Queens who are trans women? Yes. Are those trans Drag Queens women? Also yes. But that’s not the point of drag. The point is to be fabulous & fun.
