@revingev @LibranJustice It’s not greed. Economics 101 calls it Supply and Demand. When seats stop selling, price increases will slow or stop.

@LibranJustice I agree. This is going to catch up with the team. Even charging more for watch parties from the original lower price and increasing last year. Greed definitely exists.

Since Rogers Place opened for the 2016-17 season, the #Oilers have raised ticket prices in 8 out of the last 9 years.
The only year they officially held the line was the 2019-20 season
2023-2025): Most sections saw hikes of 10–12% per year during this stretch as the team's "championship window" fully opened.
Reports from the recent renewal cycle show a slightly more modest increase of 0–5% for most full season seats, though some premium sections jumped higher
While regular season seats go up steadily, the playoff "strips" are where the real sticker shock happens. First-round seats that cost around $115–$130 can jump to over $400 by the time the Stanley Cup Finals roll around
The other thing to note is: Edmonton has one of the highest "resale" markups in the league. Because the demand in Northern Alberta is so high and the season seat waitlist is so long, the secondary market often sits 40–60% higher than the face value of the ticket.
NOTE: this is NOT an #Oilers thing. #Vegas is close to #Edmonton on ticket prices and raising yearly since entering the league. #Rangers in spite of poor seasons have the highest increase and bring in the most ticket revenue. Teams with new arena’s the same.

I would have no problem firing KK with 11 games left, in fact I am all for it BUT who are you replacing him with? Pete DeBoer? Yeah no thanks…. There really isn’t a good option out there but….

Maybe Bowman phones his buddy John Tortorella and says “John, I need a favour… come in for the rest of the season and through the playoffs and see if you can drive this team home. Then in the off season when we search for the next head coach of the Oilers, you will get one of the first interviews…”
Whatever happens, I firmly think this coaching staff has lost the room… just listen to 29 before the Olympic break and now 97 tonight….
As it sits right now, this team is never winning the Stanley Cup

The Hangover (2009) would likely be remembered as a modern comedy classic if it had stayed a one-and-done. The sequels didn’t ruin the jokes, they just softened how sharp, nasty, and perfectly timed that first film really was.
