Not a fan of Kentucky, everything after school completed. Those kids miss out on summer games because it goes so long

I agree it starts too early because of the weather but if you start later, then you’re getting less games because they’re not moving the state tournament. I’m just saying it’s not realistic @CoachRobStacy4

. @TPvaughtHill only the travel teams that want to take your money (and little kids teams) bother anyone during high school season. We did not have that issue with either of my sons

@Cory_Lawrence @CoachRobStacy4 Because all of state championships are contested before school is out and until this year, basically all in same week in same city. Spring Fling is a huge event. Not sure what other state tournaments you’ve been to @CoachRobStacy4 but I really like the way it’s done here

. @CoachRobStacy4 it’s terrible, sometimes miserable, sitting in freezing weather watching baseball or softball (or soccer or track or flag football). I’ve had kids play all of those in the spring in high school in Tennessee over the years

Can @TSSAA take another look at the Sports Calendar? A dual sport athlete basketball/baseball whose basketball team plays in the state tournament misses a 1/3 + of their baseball season.

@Twilly03 @Cory_Lawrence @TSSAA I’m sure Single A schools run into the issue more than anyone else. But you’re also talking about just a few schools, 8 to be exact, still playing basketball after the first week of the baseball season has taken place

The answer is for less teams in state tournament and entire boys and girls tournaments to take place in one week, not two, and maybe first week of March. Don’t need district tournaments in current setup

This is not a new phenomenon because of NIL. Parents have been holding their kids back to gain an athletic advantage for decades.

This is what the University of Houston president and many in academics emphasized years ago when I was there. Athletic success increases prestige. It increases your reach, interest, and name recognition. Often, leading to better students and a boost in alumni donations.

Incredible game. The Braun step back 3. The Battle baseline jumper. Cold blooded. And my 11 yo daughter got to see a full house lose its mind for women’s hoops. Awesome.

I’m noticing something I can’t unsee. The people with the most influence in education often didn’t spend decades in classrooms. And the people who did… aren’t the ones shaping the conversation.

SUPPORT LOCAL MEDIA: There were times at state when there was hardly any media interviewing players & coaches. And it's hard not to think of a future where no media is there. So wherever you are, support your HS media. Make sure they're around. Don't just assume they will be.

TSA is largely funded by a tax on every ticket. It adds $5.60 to every one-way ticket & $11.20 to roundtrips. Everyone in line right now is already paying the TSA fee, even for free reward travel. The government has previously diverted that money to the Treasury. Pay the agents.
