@DrCalumMiller Lucky if you are consulted. In hospital in 2021 after quite a serious stroke, I discovered a DNR on my file quite by accident: spotted a red bordered document & asked “what’s that?, to be told, sheepishly, that it was a DNR of which neither I nor next of kin had any knowledge.

In our supposedly cradle-to-grave NHS, only 25% of hospice care for children & only 33% for adults is government funded. Imagine maternity, paediatric or ICU beds having to rely on car boot sales & charity fun runs. Thank you @Chrisitv for highlighting. itv.com/news/2023-08-2…

@OctopusEnergy followed the invite on my app to join Intelligent Octopus and charged the house off peak last nigh. Tariff hasn’t changed despite the invite and successful test charge last night. Can you help?

⛔️ STOP scheduling back to back meetings! ✋ Science now proves that it is bad for our stress levels and contributes to burnout. Put breaks in between meetings. Your health and productivity will be boosted. Ban back to back meetings in your organisation. ❌

I do a lot of EPR business case reviews. Common things people forget; 1, Patient voices in the governance; 2, Medical device integration; 3, Out of hospital interop; 4, Data and Analytics.

Someone who is in financial trouble to the tune of 800,000 pounds with no viable income is too vulnerable to pressure and conflicts of interest. Vetting would argue against them becoming a junior civil servant. They should certainly not be PM. @RestIsPolitics

Everything wrong with our politics, in one story: Hedge fund manager buys large estate on Dartmoor. Uses vast fortune to challenge the right to camp there. Wins. Local people call on their MP to amend the legislation. Discover he's been funded by the hedge fund manager.

Has anyone in Primary or Secondary care got ideas of how we can blur the relationship boundaries between us? Despite the busyness, share challenges, empathise, understand, co-create solutions? There'd be many quick wins if some of us did this. How could it be done practically?

14) Primary Care/ Secondary care interface. 🌟Our work is inextricably linked🌟 Developing personal relationships & empathy for each others challenges. Dialogue between those doing the job, in the context of this trust could enable 100s of improvements in how we collaborate🧑‍🤝‍🧑

My car broke down last year - the clutch gave out. I tried passing a law making it illegal for my car to stop working, tried suing it, tried arresting it and tried sacking it. Turned out that I needed to spend money maintaining and fixing it. Who knew...

Yesterday I contacted a GP surgery with concern about a relative. Today, on the busiest day, that GP went out of his way to do a home visit and help stop a situation escalating. We are often quick to criticise but the NHS is full of brilliant people doing their best for patients.
