If Republicans put a bill to ban gerrymandering to a vote in Congress, every single Democrat would vote for it, and Republicans would be the ones to block it. I’m all for banning it and think it’s terrible for democracy, but we disarm together or not at all.

Listen, I hate gerrymandering. I supported when Democrats tried to ban it. But if you think I'm not going to support Democrats fighting fire with flamethrowers, you're out of your mind. And you can whine about my morality and integrity all you want. At the end of the day, the people bitching and complaining today think "morality and integrity" doesn't apply to them.

@WalshFreedom Virginia voted for what’s in the best interests of the country, and hopefully the courts allow the results to stand. But, many people supported the referendum because it’s temporary. If Democrats attempt to cling to these districts in 2030, they will face a huge backlash.

Republicans, you got no one to blame but yourselves. Trump started this fight, he started this whole mid-decade redistricting bullshit. Democrats are simply fighting back. Cry harder Republicans.

@TomBancroft76 @WalshFreedom In the meantime, your taxes are going up which is probably ok with you. 1 party rule in my opinion is always bad. But hey you voted for the Democrats to have complete control. Good Luck with that

@WalshFreedom Joe, everyone is happy in VA. The thing that's crazy is Virginia is fucked. Your taxes are going to rise, then they will do the famous" tax the rich" plan that never works. Goodbye Virginia

Amazon just got caught rigging prices. They were colluding behind the scenes with companies like Levi’s, Hanes, and Chewy to make sure you paid more. When corporations act like cartels, that’s not free market capitalism.
Robert Reich@RBReich

What do Levi’s, Hanes, and Chewy have in common? California Attorney General Rob Bonta just revealed evidence alleging that Amazon used its power to pressure them, and countless other brands, to inflate prices of listings on rival online marketplaces as part of wide-ranging price-fixing scheme. Watch this before you shop on Amazon.

I'm not a fan of gerrymandering. But I'm still waiting for a convincing explanation for why it’s a “threat to democracy” when Democrats do it and mysteriously fine when Republicans do. The extremely blatant double standard is a bit much.

@MattLightner11 The courts already spoke. You magatards are special. You only are for stealing, corruption, and incivility when your guy Trump is leading the charge. Trump started this in Texas. Virginia answered back. Period.

I am proud to be a Virginian everyday. Note to VA Republicans: You followed this carnival barking creeper off a cliff. No moral courage. No backbone, always choosing Trump over the Constitution and Virginia. You deserve this. The Republican Party has to be cleansed of cowards and rise anew. #VoteYesinVirginia

@GovernorVA Democrats just want power. It’s ok to admit it. Making excuses like, “protecting democracy” is just cringe and most of the voting population knows what you’re doing. Just own it, you might get more respect

Weeks of attacks. Millions of dollars spent misrepresenting my position — and President Obama’s — on this referendum. Virginia voters saw through it anyway.

Virginia voters made their voices heard last night. We are responding to actions other states took at the behest of the President. We are meeting the urgency of this moment. And, importantly, we are preserving Virginia’s bipartisan redistricting process into the future.

Wait until we see how the Virginia Supreme Court rules, how the midterms turn out, and how Trump’s counterrevolutionary cookout progresses over the next couple years. The national picture is far more important than the state at this point. I mean, if the Democrat Party wins in 2028, it won’t matter where you’re living.

Looks like the Maxwell Family will be moving. I refuse to live in a state where I have no representation. I did it for 26 years in California. Was hoping my home state could see the big picture instead of “orange man bad” but no they are too blinded by hate. They well reap what they sow. So we are thinking Arkansas, East Tennessee or maybe Florida. Any other suggestions?

I do not live in Texas or any other state than Va. Therefore I can only have a say of what goes on in Va. We voted for a non-partial commission to establish districts. And even though a lower court ruled this referendum was ILLEGAL the democrats went ahead with it anyways. I am more ashamed of our state supreme court, they should have made a ruling on this before the vote. Instead they punted it to afterwards. Now if they rule it was illegal, like the lower court stated, everyone is going to say they are obstructing the "will of the people".

Can conservatives from the US explain to me why the VA gerrymander (which was approved by voters) is not OK, while the one in TX and others in the South are? Please make a serious, good-faith effort. No German random posters please. PS: I think all gerrymandering is bad.
