@SebAaltonen I'm still waiting for a 34 inch 5120*2160@120fps with hardware color caliration model... well, dell u4025qw is the closest, but it's 40 inch which is a bit too large for me

This is the wildest paper I've seen so far for SIGGRAPH this year. The authors reformulate SDS paths into a a polynomial system to reduce the problem into a root-finding problem, and the result is a really powerful, robust solution for caustics in a unidirectional path tracer.

@wolfstudioart I've tried similiar set-up. Well, it doesn't work well when the geometry is not exactly flat. You will see obvious break shading when dealing with curvy surfaces.😩

@SmallzKillin ahh, turning off the normalize option of noise texture node just made the color ouput able to be negetive! Thus we don't need to map range the color between -1~1
