For art, the medium matters. - The Lascaux Cave paintings are iconic because they exist directly on cave walls. - Stonehenge endures because the stones themselves are the monument. - Banksy is powerful because the art is created in public space. The medium is a core part of the art. For on-chain art, the medium is the blockchain. And just like stone, walls, or public space, it shapes the meaning. The confusion exists in NFTs because most are not on-chain. The media lives off chain, hosted elsewhere. The blockchain is used for ownership and trading, not for the art itself. On-chain art changes that. The art, the content, the code all live on-chain. The medium and the message are one. On-chain art is a new art form, and people are just starting to understand this today.
