Our country needs an honest, open, calm dialog and we need people to propose out-of-the-box solutions. Opinions are not necessarily those of my employer.

I propose, the U.S. should have a national ERP system - a single centralized platform like companies use to manage finances. All U.S. citizens should have read-only access to it, for full transparency. All taxes and expenditures should be entered into it, including invoices, payments, etc. to show where our money goes.

@sarithaforny We need to rethink jails and incarceration. Convicts are there because their actions violated the public’s trust in some way. Purpose should be to remove them until they have earned back the trust of the public. And in some cases that may never actually be possible.

A homeless New Yorker was killed in the subway yesterday — by a man with 22 prior arrests. Neither one should have been on the train. When I’m Attorney General, I’ll put repeat offenders in jail, clear the homeless, drug addicted, and mentally ill off the streets and the subways, and get them the shelter and services they need. New Yorkers are tired of this mess. nypost.com/2026/05/14/us-…

@sarithaforny Today it seems like the focus is simply to keep people alive - not treatment.

This woman is right. I watched the public hearings on the opioid settlement funds, and New Yorkers were clear: this money should be used to help people get treatment, mental health care, and a real path to recovery — not wasted on politics or programs that keep people trapped in addiction. As Attorney General, I will make sure these funds are used the way they were intended: to save lives and help people heal.

It was an honor having @RobertKennedyJr over to cook some real food today and talk national food policy (and seafood). Getting in the kitchen with a superhero only makes the food that much healthier. @LaurenGruel

@nickshirleyy A man was flying out of Cuba on a business trip. The morning of his flight he decided to sneak valuables out in his shoe heel. When he was arrested at the airport they went right to his shoes - they told the surprised man that his son had called them.

🚨Inside Communist-Controlled Cuba: As Cuba faces its largest humanitarian crisis in years amid growing tensions with the US, I went to see what 60+ years of communism has done to a country. Within 24 hours I was planning my escape out of the country after being followed by their intelligence agents, and a 2 star general waited to interrogate me outside my hotel room at 4 AM. Right now Cuba has no oil or gas, 7/10 people are going hungry, there is no medicine and some haven't even had eggs in a year. In communism there is no freedom of speech or press, and I was almost taken hostage for asking about communism. This is a look into Cuba like never before, no one truly knows how bad it is until now. Like and share this video like wildfire!

It was an honor getting the first question at the @WhiteHouse press briefing earlier this week with @SecRubio filling in, and not something I take for granted. The response to my presence at the briefing there has been incredibly positive, and for that I thank you. Independent media is breaking new ground, and with your continued support, Catherine Herridge Reports is committed to leading the way.

BREAKING: Justice Department Veteran Reveals President Obama Prosecution Possible in ‘Grand Conspiracy’ Case Against President Trump; Says James Comey’s “8647” Indictment Will Likely Survive First Amendment Challenges This week on Straight to the Point, I sat down with former DOJ official and longtime federal prosecutor Jim Trusty for a wide-ranging interview on the expanding investigations into Obama-era intelligence and law enforcement officials dubbed “The Grand Conspiracy." Asked if the cases were viable, Trusty identified 18 USC 242 as the leading statute for prosecutions in the alleged ‘grand conspiracy’ and discusses how former CIA Director John Brennan’s TV appearances and recently published book may have reset the clock on the statute of limitations. Trusty also addressed James Comey's recent “8647” threat indictment and possible superseding false statements charges. @thelatmg @latimesstudios_ Responding to the NC indictment, former FBI Director Comey said he is still innocent, not afraid, and believes in the independent judiciary. John Brennan has called the investigation politically motivated. @adamcarolla It should no longer be called marijuana legally. It’s 50x the THC content it used to be. Fight this by calling anything over 1% THC an Amplified Derivative or something and make it schedule 1. It’s a start.

My Call From Ms. Shirley I recently read an article (see next tweet) where a mother describes how her telephone conversations with her son indicate that he isn’t interested in anything she has to say. He loves her but doesn’t treat her like a person who needs to be valued. He doesn’t seek her opinions or advice. From her perspective, he believes she has nothing to offer him. Not only does he not need his mother anymore, but he doesn’t see her as a person. Phoning her to check in is just an item on his to do list. I know parents who have this struggle, and I worry about it happening with my kids. Anyway, last week, after I read that article, I was working at my desk when the phone rang. The caller was unknown but it was a valid number with a NY exchange. I answered. A sweet older lady, whose voice I didn’t recognize, greeted me and began rattling off apologies for not calling sooner. She didn’t stop to verify my identity. Just recounted her day as if she was talking to a friend or relative. She reminded me of my deceased mom and my older living relatives. As she talked, I just listened, interjecting the occasional, um huh, and agreement with some of her complaints. I couldn’t get in any other words without interrupting anyway. This was straight up Auntie talkin. 😂  Why was I listening to this stranger chatter on? At that moment, I thought about the article. I wondered if she had kids who regarded her the way that son did his mother. Or, was she lonely and just needed someone to listen? It didn’t matter. She seemed eager to share her opinions and life events. Eventually, I told her that she had the wrong number. She apologized then kept talking anyway. 🤣 She told me her name was Shirley and that she’d call me back if she found out she had transposed numbers. She called me back within the hour as promised. Today, I thought of Ms. Shirley and dialed her number. She was out, but returned my call. Told me all about how she spent her monthly check, talking to me like she was catching up with an old friend. She treated herself to an ice cream after she pays her monthly bills. I hung up smiling. I’m going to keep in touch with her. I don’t know if she needs someone to listen and value her insight. Maybe it’s me who needs the connection. I might learn something valuable. Stay tuned.

Microlooting (shoplifting) can be stopped by using the Costco model. Make your store member-only: customers can get a membership card by showing a photo ID and credit/debit card. Get caught shoplifting and your card is revoked. Costco has 1/10 the shrinkage problem other retailers have. Bodegas can do this by borough groups. Towns can do this locally.
