Top tier firms aren’t enough to usher in a revolution. If so, the “revolution” in itself is a concern or just entirely artificial. If a venture investment is validation for society to engage and businesses to partner, then VC’s are the gatekeepers of innovation and the gatekeepers have long been compromised. I feel for the web3 space. Met some of the smartest people I know in it. It’s a “what could have been” scenario. Ideally it comes back. The tech has the ability to create new ways of life for us all, restructure the way we work and register/create value. A tokenized world has tremendous value but nobody needed a 1000x return on the Industrial Revolution before the machines we built even started servicing others. It’s the backend/OS a ‘responsible’ society needed to stick it to the old guard and usher in an era of prosperity. But we took a good thing and ruined it (very on brand for the 21st century human) Greed took us back many years instead of the tech taking us forward. The meme coin facade is just another extraction opportunity. Every influencer, many ceos, most central exchanges adopted the grift and everyone’s intentions are clearly out of line. Everyone is smart enough to know better but instead choose to play dumb to play regulators who don’t know any better themselves. The “dip” comes warranted
