It was a special session when the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded in Oslo in October 2023. The winner herself, Narges Mohammadi, was imprisoned in Iran and had been since 2021. She has spent most of the last ten years in prison for her fight against oppression in Iran and was first arrested in 1998. She was temporarily released for health reasons in December 2024, but was arrested again in December last year. She was reportedly subjected to brutal treatment and beaten several times during her arrest. "It was very violent. She was beaten in the face, head and chest. She was already in very bad shape when she was arrested. She has lost her sight because of what happened. My family in Iran tried to get her out for a doctor's visit. The prison denies everything." her brother Hamidreza Mohammadi tells Dagbladet. #FreeNarges #NargesMohammadi #HamidrezaMohammadi #Iran
