Ossoff: I am hearing from Republicans who come up to me on the street, or they approach me at the airport, or maybe they have my number and they give me a call, and they're telling me that they are voting for a Democrat for the first time this year because they've just had enough. The abuses of power, the blatant self-enrichment and corruption, while the American people face all-time high prices for rent and groceries and a meal out at a restaurant and the power bill — the people have had enough. And I believe that a mighty wave is building to rebuke these abuses of power and to restore checks and balances.

Tax Day was last week, and many hardworking Americans reaped the benefits of the Working Families @TaxCuts. More than 25 million American workers were able to deduct overtime pay from their taxes. And more than 6 million workers were able to deduct their tips from their taxes.

Democrats refused to fund the deportation of criminal illegal aliens, efforts to fight human trafficking, and border security. Republicans are ensuring that Border Patrol and ICE have additional resources beyond what we’ve already provided to keep doing their jobs.

⚡️Every single point is correct within the physics we currently understand. And that qualifier is doing all the work. This is a perfect example of a very smart person making the most common mistake in the history of human forecasting. Projecting current constraints forward as permanent laws. Every generation does this. Lord Kelvin proved heavier than air flight was impossible. Astronomers proved breaking the sound barrier would destroy any aircraft. Physicists proved atomic energy could never be harnessed practically. The math was right every time. The assumption that the math was complete was wrong every time. Susskind is one of the greatest living physicists. He understands the constraints better than almost anyone alive. And that is precisely what makes him the wrong person to ask this question. Expertise in current physics creates a deep structural bias toward assuming current physics is final. The Tsiolkovsky rocket equation is real. It governs chemical and fusion propulsion absolutely. It says nothing about propulsion methods that don’t exist yet. The history of physics is a history of walls that turned out to be doors. Newtonian mechanics was complete until it wasn’t. Classical electromagnetism was complete until it wasn’t. The standard model is complete until it won’t be. Every framework that felt like the final answer eventually revealed itself as a special case of something larger. There is no reason to believe our current understanding of energy, spacetime, and propulsion is the exception to this pattern. There is every reason to believe it isn’t. The interstellar dust problem, the radiation problem, the energy problem. All real. All unsolved. All framed as permanent by someone standing inside a physics paradigm that is maybe 120 years old on a planet that is 4.5 billion years old in a universe that is 13.8 billion years old. The confidence that we have discovered the final constraints on travel through spacetime after studying it for a cosmic eyeblink is the most remarkable act of faith in the entire post. And it’s disguised as skepticism. Two days ago four humans broke a distance record that stood for 56 years. The species keeps going further. The timeline is never what the physicists predict. The method is never what anyone expects.
Fred Krueger@dotkrueger

We're not going to travel beyond the solar system, according to Leonard Susskind. And neither are aliens, coming to visit us. We may not be alone, but we are stuck here for, essentially forever. 1. The nearest star is 4.24 light years away. The fastest spacecraft ever built would require 6,600 years to get there. 2. Surely we can just build faster spacecraft. The problem is to get to anywhere close to the speed of light, we need exponentially more energy. 3. Chemical rockets will just not work. Even fusion rockets won't work. Even 10% of the speed of light is not achievable. The Tsiolkovsky Rocket Equation prevents it. 4. Interstellar dust becomes hand grenades when traveling anywhere close to the speed of light. Ships break. 5. Space radiation will kill us over the time need to travel interstellar distances. Impossible to protect without massive shields, which require massive energy to accelerate and de-accelerate.

⚡️This is energy warfare aimed at China without firing a shot at China. Look at the structure. Iran sends roughly 80 to 90 percent of its crude to China. Those barrels are pressure valves for China’s industrial machine. They allow China to import under the radar, hedge against Western supply pressure, and diversify away from Gulf producers aligned with Washington. Now layer in U.S. strikes degrading Iran’s export capacity and maritime leverage. That does three things at once. 1. It squeezes China’s discounted supply channel China relies on sanctioned barrels to lower input costs and create arbitrage. If those flows become disrupted or risk priced, China’s refiners lose margin cushion. 2. It increases China’s exposure to the very sea lanes the U.S. dominates If Iran weakens and the Strait becomes a theater of U.S. enforced stability, China’s imports flow through arteries protected by American power. That is structural dependence. 3. It forces China into a strategic dilemma Intervene diplomatically and appear to defend a sanctioned regime. Intervene materially and escalate against U.S. enforcement power. Stay passive and absorb economic pain. This is about shaping Beijing’s cost structure. The quiet reality is this: If Iran’s export machine is degraded, China’s energy security becomes more correlated with U.S. naval control. That increases American leverage in any broader confrontation. Energy is the base layer of industrial power. Industrial power is the base layer of military power. Cut the discounted inputs and you raise the long term marginal cost of competition. Now the deeper macro implication. If China faces higher and more volatile energy costs, three things follow: •industrial slowdown risk rises •currency pressure increases •stimulus pressure increases Stimulus means more liquidity. More liquidity means more global capital movement. Global capital movement destabilizes emerging markets and commodities. So this is not a regional war. It is a pressure operation on the world’s second largest economy via its energy intake. The real conclusion: This is the United States using the Middle East as a leverage point against China’s growth engine. Energy flows decide power hierarchies. Whoever shapes the flows shapes the century.

Trump’s attack on Iran takes a big economic bite out of one of America’s chief rivals: China. Almost all of Iran’s exported oil, and more than half of Venezuela’s, went last year to China. 📈 5 charts that show China’s oil dilemma after U.S. strikes: politi.co/4seecG8

To the administration: What’s happening on the streets of MN is called a planned organized and CCP funded revolution. It’s not about ICE, it’s about destabilizing America in an election year. They, with the help of the media and the democrats in MN who got elected the money with money that was stolen from taxpayers are purposefully creating these conditions. It’s only going to get worse if you don’t start going after these NGO structures. Take away their money, take away their power.

One year in, @POTUS @realDonaldTrump is delivering unprecedented results for the American people. Tax deals, trade deals, and peace deals. Under the President’s agenda, @USTreasury has: • Passed the historic One Big Beautiful Bill, which made the Working Family Tax Cuts permanent • Launched Trump Accounts to democratize the American Dream for the next generation • Cut billions of dollars in waste, fraud, and abuse • Cracked down on terrorists, cartels, and illicit finance • Begun the long-overdue work of rebalancing global trade • Strengthened supply chains while protecting U.S. companies abroad • Took decisive steps to make America the crypto capital of the world through innovation and regulatory clarity President Trump has brought back American prosperity, security, and leadership. The United States is once again the hottest country and the hottest economy in the world – and we are just getting started.

These tariffs are unnecessary, punitive, and a profound mistake. They will push our core European allies further away while doing nothing to advance U.S. national security. We are already seeing the consequences of these measures in real time: our NATO allies are being forced to divert attention and resources to Greenland, a dynamic that plays directly into Putin’s hands by threatening the stability of the strongest coalition of democracies the world has ever seen. Congress must work together to reassert our Constitutional authority over tariffs so that they are not weaponized in ways that harm our alliances and undermine American leadership. apnews.com/article/denmar…
