@KarlTurnerMP Within two days you have shown both a fundamental misunderstanding of the UK constitution and a wilful ignorance of the UK tax system. That is thoroughly disappointing.
Stamp Duty and Stamp Duty Land Tax are different taxes. That is something that I would expect an MP to know.

Because, ‘Stamp Duty’ was first introduced in England on 28 June 1694, during the reign of William III and Mary II. 🤷🏼♂️

Stamp duty’s plagued Britain since Labour introduced it in 2003. It can’t be reformed, it can’t be tweaked: it has to go. Conservatives will abolish stamp duty and stop penalising those who want to own a home, build a family or to downsize.

@journoramzy There’s currently a big pinch point at the very end of Upper Street with temporary lights. The day before there was also some JSO-type walking protests on the road to Kings Cross. Probably adds up to that

1) Americans need to get that if Putin wins in Ukraine with a peace deal that is good enough that it vindicates the invasion, World War 3 is far likelier.
2) Europeans need to get that the era of fantasy politics - being the “regulatory superpower”, giving up economic growth to “lead the world on Net Zero”, endlessly growing welfare states, elite consensus in favour of immigration policies that voters hate - is over.
We cannot rely on America anymore. Not in five years - now. Economic growth and self-defence override all other priorities.

Student Finance in this country is a 360 deal… a tax marketed as a “loan” 🤣 they think they’re slick.
In school they tell kids “you don’t have to pay it back til you earn x amount, it’s only like £50 a month and it’s written off after 30+ years!1!!1”
They don’t tell kids that it becomes a burden the more you advance in your career, and you take home significantly less than your peers without a student loan!

The interest rate on Student Loans is absolutely bonkers I know someone who took out a personal loan of about £30,000, which has a way lower interest rate, to pay off his student loans in one payment Because of that, his monthly payments stay the same but he ends up saving nearly £25,000 because of the lower rates and quicker payback period

@triviumcolombia To be fair, that quote relates to the older animals with atrophied muscles that they tested this on, so the performance improvement wouldn’t be that stark for athletes doing this. The concerning part as always is that it it is likely already happening and it isn’t detectable.
