On this day in 1967, Otis Redding stepped into the studio on this day to record '(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay,' a song that would become his biggest hit. Tragically, he never saw its release—he was killed in a plane crash just three days later.

@cd_hooks Someone decided to make the video private just now. Maybe they’re just trying to fix the audio lag?!? But methinks the public video is more likely headed the way of substantive proposals to slow the carnage: to the dustbin of #txlege history?

All session, Sen. Roland Gutierrez has been crusading on the Legislature's inaction on Uvalde. He's been punished for it: None of his bill have passed, and even other D think he's overdoing it. He's currently giving one of the most remarkable speeches I've ever seen in the Senate

So my main recommendation is this: Get involved politically. Show up to your city council meetings and ask about building code. Elect leaders who take climate and health seriously. There's so much we can all do. Let's get started!

Well that thread certainly took off. Lots of questions about ventilation, what monitor I used, and what you should do if you have a gas stove. So here's... another thread 🧵 twitter.com/curious_founde…
Michael Thomas@curious_founder

Over the last two months I've read dozens of studies about gas stoves and indoor air quality. I also installed monitors in our home and ran my own tests. Here's a thread on what I learned 🧵 #energytwitter

NEW: United CEO says 3,000 employees have tested positive for COVID, but thanks to the company's vaccine mandate, ZERO employees are hospitalized. Prior to the mandate going into effect, more than 1 employee was dying per week. Now, they've gone 8 straight week with ZERO deaths.

@kissel_adam @KevinRobertsTX @VanceGinn @WSJopinion @WSJ It’s not the transmission chain *in a vacuum* that’s being considered by jurists, scientists, or policy makers—it’s the aggregate harm; the exigency; and yes, the potential threat to an individual worker who may be vaccinated or unvaccinated with any range of comorbidities…

@kissel_adam @KevinRobertsTX @VanceGinn @WSJopinion The paragraph above the one you cited shows how @WSJ has a French Doctor using the reasoning of an American Jurist to make unfounded conclusions about science. Therein lies the editorial failure. Burying the lede,Hospitalizations are *the* issue triggering public health measures.

@KevinRobertsTX @WSJopinion @WSJ Virus clears far more quickly from the vaccinated, reducing the number of people to whom they can transmit the virus. Y’all are welcome to keep opposing the mandate but have some conscience in how you portray the reality of what we’re facing down with these hospitalizations.
