@nbstv A nation that pays its lawmakers like kings and its nurses, teachers, and firefighters like servants has not failed by accident, it has been designed to fail.

@nbstv Meanwhile Uganda’s per capita income is about UGX 3.8 million for a whole YEAR. An MP earns that in 4 days. A primary school teacher takes home about UGX 500,000 a month, while an MP earns double that in a single day. 557 MPs. The math is hard to defend 🙌🏾

@nbstv Spot on. If the value has shifted from accuracy to judgment, then lawyers need tools for research so they focus on thinking. That’s exactly what mateeka.com does, AI-powered legal research for Uganda. Let the tool handle accuracy, you bring the judgment. Try it free.

The economics of legal work will shift; clients will pay you less because of AI. What we are trading in now is judgment. Those who think in traditional ways will lose out. The terrain of what makes a good lawyer has shifted from accuracy to value.- Robert Kirunda #NBSUpdates

“An effective AI governance framework must address both legal and regulatory aspects while fostering innovation. We’re working to establish a supportive ecosystem through national innovation hubs set up across the country. Our approach is agile and statutory not to restrict innovation, but to enhance and encourage it. It’s a stakeholder-driven framework designed to guide, advise, and support innovators. It’s essential that regulations in place empower the work being done. We currently have three cyber laws in effect and recently launched a Digital Transformation Roadmap built on five key pillars, pillars every stakeholder should be aware of.” ~ Ambrose Ruyooka, Commissioner, Ministry of ICT #TogetherWeAreUnstoppable

@ShamimNambassa Part of fixing this starts with access to information. When legal research is hard, even for lawyers, justice suffers. We’re building mateeka.com to change that, legal research for Ugandan law. Try it free and see for yourself.

Every time I attend court I get very disappointed with how systems here in Uganda apply. I have witnessed the highest level of injustice in the courts of Law 🙌🏿 Judiciary is indeed on trial and they’re performing very poorly
