After calling police for his sickly elderly mom, police said they found child sexually abusive material “in plain view” at Pontiac man’s home.
Matthew Brockway Kliewer, 42, was arraigned on six felony counts after being arrested for having thousands of pornographic images involving children.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said they discovered the stash during the welfare check. Kliewer’s mother was taken to the hospital, where she died that same day.
The circumstances surrounding his mother’s death is still under investigation. Detectives seized the printed images along with several electronic devices, including computers, gaming systems, and a cell phone.
“The terrible toll this takes on children must be laid at the door of the perpetrators,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said.

@PhilipCDube I would be shocked if they don’t choose lethal injection in this case. There is zero chance they would potentially be killing an innocent man. I think that’s a biggie issue in the decisions we’ve seen in the past.

Tarrant County, TX | Tanner Horner is on trial for his life in a Ft Worth courtroom for the kidnap murder of 7-yr- old Athena Strand. Horner was a contract driver for FedEx delivering holiday packages in late November 2022. He abducted the child from her home driveway while delivering Christmas presents. Her ravaged remains were found in a rural area near the Trinity River in Wise County, TX on 12-2-22. The location was 6 to 9 miles from her home in a waterway called the Bobo Crossing. Video footage of the crime was recovered from surveillance inside the delivery truck. The coroner determined that she had been manually strangled & his DNA was recovered from the child. Horner confessed & led police to her body. He has pleaded guilty to capital murder & aggravated kidnap in her death. The only issue for the jury is the penalty.
