@OzKaterji I like you, but this won't age well. The Iranian people are far more capable and willing to overthrow the regime than the people of Iraq were. There won't be any occupation.

Comparisons with Iraq fall short: In Iraq, WMD was the pretext, regime change was the objective, occupation was the strategy. In Iran, WMD is the pretext, objective remains unclear, strategy remains unclear. The US actually had a plan in Iraq, this is something else entirely

Israel has so far not struck Iran's underground facilities. The first five waves were about regime decapitation, command & control degradation, air defence systems annihilation. But no worries - there are F-35I circling above Fordow and Natanz hitting everything that moves.

@michaelaubry @ramit Scrapping lots of well-paid jobs in services that create much more economic growth and replacing them with low-paid manufacturing jobs people don't even want? What a fantastic idea! Real big brain thinking. 😂😂

Good evening, MAGA voters. Thanks to your vote, you'll now pay thousands of dollars more per year. Let's begin by taking a tour of your grimy homes. In your kitchen: - Coffeemaker: Likely made in China, Thailand, or Malaysia. You'll now pay 24%–36% more - Sponges: Enjoy the 34%–46% tariffs In your bathroom: - Towels: Many are made in India, Pakistan, or Turkey. Enjoy 26%–29% tariffs - Toothpaste & body wash packaging often comes from EU, China, or Vietnam. 20%–34% more In your garage: - Power tools Often made in China, Taiwan, or Mexico with 32%–34%+ tariffs (thankfully I don't have to worry about this one) And I'm not even mentioning the expensive stuff, like your cars, appliances, HVAC, furniture, and TVs You'll pay thousands of dollars more for household items...all so that wealthy guys like me can get a tax cut that I don't need. This is what Republicans voted for

@WarMonitor3 Imagine if a democrat had done this. The MAGA crowd are probably still going on about 'her emails', which was absolutely nothing compared to this. I hope @DNIGabbard keeps to her word on any unauthorised release of classified information being illegal and treated as such...

@aj15028 @MirandaTunnicl1 For people demanding big handouts because they couldn't retire at 60, an absurdly low age, to be funded by people who almost certainly won't ever get a state pension at all? The level of entitlement is staggering.

WASPI women do not belong on this list. Nine long years of pandering to a group of women pleading ignorance about state pension age changes that were announced 25 years ago, and most women were aware of, is enough. The equalisation of state pension ages is not an "injustice".

@MirandaTunnicl1 Being told you won't get to retire incredibly early decades in advance was too late? Please detail the financial arrangements that you couldn't adjust with 20 years notice. I'm fascinated to hear how it was actually too late.

@NJM71 Raising the age 7 years was horrible. I’m a sixties baby it was a nightmare being told at 45. Too late! Like many other women my health is deteriorating and it’s very hard to keep up. It used to be respected that many women had caring duties anyway. There is no dignity for us.

@NJM71 Incredible seeing a large number of baby boomers, the most privileged generation in history, clutching at straws with this as they demand young people give them yet more money. Everyone knew the SPA was changing and those claiming they didn't make their 'cause' look stupid.

Former teacher retired at 58, expected state pension at 60, but didn't check her SPa before taking early retirement. Seen a lot of similar stories and still don't think it's the govt's fault that major financial decisions were made without planning. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

😡London has been destroyed. In local M&S, man walks in as shop opens and shoves entire shelf of food into a bag and walks out. Nobody batted an eye lid. The staff members reply: “Oh well, it always happens.” This is not okay. London is lawless.

Had Obama had the courage of his convictions, or any courage or convictions other than US power is bad, Assad would have been gone in 2013. Countless lives saved, refugee waves limited, and likely Putin never attempts to take Crimea. Inaction can be a deadly choice.

"No plan" = "no resources". Russia's terrorist empire has been degraded to the breaking point by Ukraine. It will collapse completely unless the West once again throws Putin a lifeline with negotiations & deals. Don’t let up anywhere. Increase the pressure. Finish him.

@rtsrichard @kev1n1985 Wasn't the claimed £273k based on a calculated average of 10% rates? The point is, it was far easier to get a mortgage then. Now, for most young people, it's almost impossible. As such, they end up stuck, forced to give landlords half their income. It's far, far worse now.

1. I never said it averaged 10% over 25 years. 2. Awful income now is minimum wage and you can still get a mortgage. 3. "Even if you income was awful" "The same incomes" - wtf are you on about? I mentioned average wage, and average wage now is £35.8k per year which would allow a mortgage up to £160k. But note, I was putting some reasonable context to Kev's 50p house price BS.

@rtsrichard @kev1n1985 It didn't average 10% over 25 years, first of all. Secondly, even if your income was awful, you could still get a mortgage. Because the house was affordable. Now those on the same incomes, inflation adjusted, would be laughed out of the bank. Thirdly, 200k? More like 350k.

Our mortgage rate hit 16.5% in the 90s. We were in our 20s, working hard with 2 kids and another on the way. If you had a £100k mortgage at 10% over 25 years you pay back £273K. Borrow £200k at 4% which most have had the option of for the last 15 years until the recent spike, you would pay back £316k. So a house price double or trebling, doesn't mean a house/mortgage cost double. The increase in price is mostly linked to the low cost of credit. And the average wage has trebled since mid 90s. That's not to say it is easy, but to add some perspective to a load of nonsense.
