@superloopau Not sure who needs to hear this, but to log in (to superhub) using email/postcode/SMS is an objectively worse experience than email/password/2FA. This seems like we're sacrificing both security and usability. Passkeys would be even better :)

laid off 13 engineers, nuked jira salesforce datadog, and saved $48m/yr after i vibe coded the replacement in 19 minutes. they needed sprint planning and headcount. i needed coffee. ruthless ops. founder mode efficiency.

@TheNewMidia @friedclamm It's not so much caring about the business, but understanding the impact it has. TBH, I think it would have been better to say "we had to let 3 engineers out of our team of 4 go". We all know how to math and it seems a little more honest (if a bit wordy).

I have successfully convinced a significant # of my sponsors to sponsor Tailwind. It’s not much, but I’m proud to be backed by such awesome companies that understand 🙏

@notparbez @TheNewMidia @friedclamm > "tailwind is a tool everyone (or most of the people) uses" Except for all of us that don't. It might be popular, but it's not "most people use it" popular.

75% is correct and accurate data even if its 3 people. When saying 3 people it seems like it doesn’t impact much but when saying 3 out of 4 people, then others can understand that it doesn’t impact much. Now about other organizations, tailwind is a tool everyone (or most of the people) uses. Its an open source and free tool so its our responsibility to speak for them. Other organizations aren’t doing the same

@TheNewMidia @friedclamm I thought the same thing initially, it would indeed be disingenuous to use the percentage to inflate the sense of how many people were affected, but then I realised that it reflects the impact on the business rather than the number of people.

@friedclamm i don't have an issue with helping tailwind out. i do have an issue with the messaging being framed as 75% which is a jarring percentage why aren't we doing the same for the orgs laying off thousands of engineers? that's my issue

@Rampaart @iamdevloper They had to let go of 75% of the engineering team. Which was ... *drum roll* ... 3 people.

@iamdevloper Yes and apparently enough that it’s expressed in percentages. I mean, you don’t say ‘80% of the workforce’ if you’re letting go 4 of the 5 dudes.

@BryanP322563 @Story_Talks71 @tweet4Anna_NAFO @DHSgov We don't have untrained rent-a-cops trying to arrest citizens and making illegal demands of them, so there's that. If we did, I would absolutely stand up to them, it's always ok to stand up against fascism and abuses of power.

@john_vdl @Story_Talks71 @tweet4Anna_NAFO @DHSgov How come all of you fucking retards are from other countries? In Australia, if you see the Police conducting an operation do you. 1. Stay out of their way, or 2. Block them, disobey their commands and when fleeing, hit one with your car?

@Story_Talks71 @tweet4Anna_NAFO @DHSgov the lengths to which the apologists will go to excuse this are wild. You can't explain this one away. There is video footage. You can command someone to get out of a car all you want, it sure as shit doesn't rise to the level of "this person deserves to be shot".

@tweet4Anna_NAFO @DHSgov Too bad she didn't think of those Children when she decided to block the road and the ignore the repeated commands to “get out of the car” in broad daylight. Very Poor choice on her part.

@theoklept @snorlax192 @HumansNoContext Yeah but the fact that's necessary at all is the problem. Tips used to be something to leave at the customer's discretion for great service, not an expected addendum to the bill so the service staff can afford their rent.

@bedesqui @ImLunaHey @youyuxi Lol 4x is nothing. I tried oxlint a few months ago with all of its built-in rules turned on and it could lint our entire codebase (~1500 ts/js files) quicker than our existing eslint setup could lint a single file. Really looking forward to making the switch in early 2026.

@github Charging per minutes used is an absolutely crazy idea to begin with. Control plane charging is a much better option! For God's sake please don't make a mistake here. Half of the engineering world is depending on this decision 🤞

We’ve read your posts and heard your feedback. 1. We’re postponing the announced billing change for self-hosted GitHub Actions to take time to re-evaluate our approach. 2. We are continuing to reduce hosted-runners prices by up to 39% on January 1, 2026. We have real costs in running the Actions control plane. We are also making investments into self-hosted runners so they work at scale in customer environments, particularly for complex enterprise scenarios. While this context matters, we missed the mark with this change by not including more of you in our planning. We need to improve GitHub Actions. We’re taking more time to meet and listen closely to developers, customers, and partners to start. We’ve also opened a discussion to collect more direct feedback and will use that feedback to inform the GitHub Actions roadmap. We’re working hard to earn your trust through consistent delivery across GitHub Actions and the entire platform.

@github Honestly the most egregious thing here was the fact that with this a self-hosted runner would eat minutes out of the quota for the repo/org. A huge part of the reason of our plans for a self-hosted runner are because it needs to be beefy and run for a relatively long time.

@onlywei @ddunderfelt @youyuxi Could be Germanic or Frankish roots on that word. Also, English spelling hasn't significantly changed in a long time to keep up with speech.

@ddunderfelt @youyuxi Have you ever wondered why the English word “you” is pronounced the way it is? It doesn’t really make sense for o and u combined to turn into and “oo” sound.

One pet peeve I've had for a long time: The E in "Evan" is pronounced like the E in "Everything". It's not "Even". Sorry for ruining all your "Evan You can do it" puns.
