Few things to keep top of mind with the BRS stuff as it plays out: - Paul Brereton the now (ironically) corrupt head of the National Anti Corruption Commission (NACC) started all this mud slinging at our soldiers when he did his report, the pre cursor to the Special Investigator. Brereton now has a second investigation into his links with defence companies etc while still being head of the NACC. Brereton it would appear uses his public positions to advance personal agendas. - The ‘journalist’ who has pursued BRS in a rather perverted fashion, Nick McKenzie from 60 minutes, has a rather loose and unethical approach to obtaining stories and that’s putting it nicely. Nick McKenzie is also neck deep in peddling conspiracies with Brereton and the NACC where tax dollars are pissed up a wall and resources wasted. - Andrew Hastie turned on his SAS brothers and gave evidence against BRS for personal gain, we should not allow Hastie to get away with his opportunistic betrayal. - The Special Investigator said today about the charges re BRS that none of the alleged victims families nor any afghani witnesses have been involved because investigators can’t travel to Afghanistan. BRS superiors have also denied ever seeing anything suspicious, it’s just turncoats like Hastie. It’s literally a case about the vibe of Nick McKenzie and 60mins. If I was the BRS defence team, I’d be licking my lips at the content of the Crown Brief and getting this before a jury quickly.

The Australian government just arrested our most decorated veteran from the Afghanistan War for alleged war crimes. Ben Roberts-Smith was awarded the Victoria Cross for Australia after singlehandedly storming two Taliban machine gun positions by himself in order to save his own SAS team. And this is how we repay him.
