@conductor_build Found it. It was an expired github PAT (token). Started working after I generated an updated one. UI could definitely add some UX around this scenario.

@conductor_build any idea what would cause this? Conductor is stuck on this message. I'm unable to create PR requests on any projects. I've closed/reopened conductor, and removed/re-added projects. This is happening on all projects, not just one.

@thsottiaux Came a little late. I was tokenMAXXing yesterday per your suggestion (and evening reset message), and hit my rate limit at midnight. So had to upgrade from the 5x to 20x plan 😭 . It's fine though, it was gonna happen with /goal anyway.

@DanielSmidstrup what kind of front-end design? web? ios? android? i've not had luck with GPT 5.5 on design. I definitely prefer Opus there. I prefer GPT 5.5 for complex code task, and opus for everyday code on popular frameworks (NextJS, TypeScript). GPT 5.5 for things like Go Lang.

Claude Opus 4.7 is best for coding GPT 5.5 for design front-end Agree?

running my first long ( > 1 hour) codex /goal. it's now 13+ hours in and still seemingly working towards the correct goal. Hasn't gone astray yet. We'll see if the result meets at least 70% of my expectation.

Woke up to one of my Anthropic API keys actively being used at about $30 every 10 minutes. Turns out it was from the @braintrust hack 😭 . Stopped it about an hour in (when I woke up), $189 in damages. Any recourse, or just par for the course?

@Shpigford I’m also a big time conductor user. I recently went from $200 /mo Claude / $20 /mo OpenAI, to $100 / $100 split. I’ve never hit my limit on any plan, so we’ll see if Claude is still usable after the switch. But yeah, could drive away devs in droves.

bummer of the year (which is just a day in the AI world). this is the nail in the coffin for me with anthropic. conductor is arguably as big of a productivity boost as anthropic is (was). time to port all my skills/workflows over to gpt 5.5. (still in conductor!)
Charlie Holtz@charlieholtz

Here's what Anthropic pricing updates mean for Conductor users: - You can officially use your Claude sub with Conductor - If you're on a max subscription you get $200 in credits and then can pay at API costs - If you use Big Terminal Mode you won't be affected We're going to keep building the best interface for the best coding agents! Excited to show you what we've been cooking🫡

@charlieholtz My workflow recently has been to open up a GPT 5.5 and Opus 4.6 and give them the same prompts and work through them simultaneously. For my code (mostly swift, go, and infra), they seem pretty neck and neck.

For the first time in Conductor history, we have a new default coding harness! Codex with GPT-5.5 has becoming the Conductor team's default agent, so we decided to make it the default for new users too.

I so clearly remember coming into office hours with @aaron_epstein in the middle of the batch, really down because we kept thrashing on what to build. He told us to put up a photo on the wall of our faces with the text "Make something these guys want." And that's what we did!

Conductor (@conductor_build) is a Mac app that lets you run multiple coding agents at the same time. Create an isolated copy of your codebase in one click, tell Claude or Codex to go work, and review and merge the results. The company just raised a $22 million Series A, and today is launching Conductor Cloud, which lets agents keep working even after you close your laptop. In this episode of Founder Firesides, co-founders @charlieholtz and @jacksondecampos sat down with YC's @aaron_epstein to talk about cycling through a dozen ideas before landing on the one that stuck, how building dev tools for themselves led to Conductor, and what they've learned from watching the best engineers in the world work with coding agents every day.

@lucasbastianik I use conductor as my daily driver. Haven’t noticed anything broken thus far. Has been working really well for me since the update.

Big fan of Conductor, but Allegro broke a lot for me. Time to try something new. ✨

Introducing Helmor The open-source, local-first answer to Conductor. A more refined, faster GUI for orchestrating coding agents. No cloud. One-click import from Conductor. AI made coding faster. @helmor_ai is about finishing the rest of the loop: orchestration, workspaces, review, testing, and merge. We believe the next generation of GUI agent orchestration should be built in the open — by the community.

First time this year that Opus is not my primary coding model. GPT-5.5 is now my preference for 70% of tasks. Still using Opus every day (4.6 though), but if i'm working on something complex, it's GPT 5.5 all day.

@AdamTornhill The speed of decision making is definitely much faster now (with Agents coding). A lot of slow thinking used to happen while writing the code, now that doesn't exist, so it's 10x the decision making compared to the old model. I love it, but it is a big shift.

After 30+ years as a programmer, all my code is now written by agents. And I love it. But there’s a flip side: Software development is definitely more mentally effortful with agents. Anyone else feeling that?

@zuess05 It's less about the code and more about the system. There is a good balance to be struck. Vibe coding without proper steering, guidance and systems thinking will eventually bite you with slow velocity, slow iteration cycles and wasted tokens later.

Senior developers are currently having a massive existential crisis because Claude writes "messy code" A junior just used Claude to ship an entire feature in 2 hours. Meanwhile, the Senior is still spending 3 days reviewing code. When will y'all realize that literally nobody cares if the code is "messy"?

I love great design but I'm not skilled at it. Claude design, Imagen 2.0, and design.md are incredible enablers. As a developer (using AI agents for coding), I'd argue these design tools will have as big an impact on my work.

What happens when an agent has to figure it out vs. when it already knows? With Apollo Skills, token consumption reduces from 65k --> 24K. Time to completion comes down from 5 min --> 2 min.
