@clashreport @michaeljknowles So to ensure that wealth created by AI doesn't all flow to the top (aka: "Communism"), we would need to do what? Seize the means of production (AI and its profits) and evenly distribute it amongst everyone? Got it

Thomas Massie: "I am particularly concerned this year about the foreign aid to Israel. "There have been 70,000 casualties in Gaza, and I don't think we should be part of that. "American taxpayers should not be conscripted into funding the military adventures of Israel."

Castro: Israel does not need and quite honestly does not deserve more American money for weapons. Self-defense does not include indiscriminately bombing homes, hospitals, churches, schools or refugee camps. If we hope to change Israel's behavior, we must use our leverage.

The Massie amendment sends a clear signal to the enemies of America that we are willing to abandon our allies and our own security. I stood against this anti-Israel, pro-terror amendment.

Read my full statement on Rep. Massie’s amendment to eliminate U.S. aid to Israel: "The State of Israel is one of our most important allies and the only democracy in the Middle East. I firmly support Israel’s right to exist and defend itself from threats, including Iran and terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. This extremely harmful amendment would threaten our strategic alliance, undermine our national security interests and eliminate funding for important research and diplomacy in the region, including the Nita M. Lowey Middle East Partnership for Peace Act, which supports Israeli-Palestinian people-to-people initiatives. That is why I staunchly opposed it. In Congress, I remain committed to ensuring the U.S.-Israel relationship remains a bipartisan issue and promoting peace, stability and a better future in the region."

Today, I voted against an amendment that would eliminate all U.S. aid to Israel – including funds for humanitarian aid, peacebuilding programs, and refugee resettlement. Ripping the rug out from under our ally amidst active attacks from Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and other sworn enemies of the U.S. and Israel would endanger not only innocent civilians and U.S. personnel in the region, but also our national security here at home. Current U.S. funding for Israel is not, and should never be, a “blank check.” It is subject to congressional oversight, longstanding laws, and a 10-year agreement signed by then-President Obama. This agreement expires soon, and for the U.S.-Israel alliance to continue standing strong, reforms are desperately needed. We cannot turn a blind eye to the horrors being committed by the Netanyahu government against innocent Palestinians, attempts to annex the West Bank, or violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the region. Israel must uphold international humanitarian standards and adhere to the laws of armed conflict, even when those who seek to do harm to the country and its people might ignore those principles. The U.S. has both a moral and strategic imperative to ensure Israel can defend itself. I have been steadfast in my support for funding to protect innocent civilians – funding that this amendment would immediately end. At the same time, as Israel continues to evolve economically, the terms of U.S. aid to Israel should also evolve. To be clear: under future agreements, we must ensure Israel abides by the same terms we require of other allies purchasing U.S. arms. As we renegotiate the terms of the agreement, the U.S. should maintain an ultimate goal of fostering long term peace in the region. That process should not fall solely on our shoulders, but also on a coalition of nations, and should include economic, diplomatic, and military support.

I will seek to understand how such a flawed legislative proposal – one that would hurt Israelis and Palestinians, as well as America’s standing in the world – generated support. We must work to rebuild a bipartisan consensus that supports Israel’s security and sovereignty as a Jewish and democratic state, while also recognizing the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people to self-determination, and ultimately statehood.

Today over 100 Democrats voted for the Massie Amendment to zero aid to Israel. My brother @RepBowman & @CoriBush lost their seats for this stand 2 years ago. As a colleague told me, Black martyrdom is normalized in America. Today I want to recognize their courage.

July 4 fireworks are a perfect example of why we shouldn’t have DST in the first place The sun not going fully down until 930pm and having to wait around until after 10 for them to be done is BONKERS. Fireworks at 830 is pro FAMILY and pro civilization

🚨This is exactly how ICE agents create the very situations they later use to justify murdering citizens. In the video, they box in the vehicle of a U.S. citizen. They approach with guns already drawn, and try to open her car door… while repeatedly ordering her to unlock it, and ignoring anything she says. And notice how they don’t identify themselves. They don’t explain why she’s being detained. They don’t tell her what crime they suspect her of committing. To the person inside the car, it’s just a group of masked, armed men surrounding her vehicle and trying to force their way in. That’s how panic starts. And when people panic, move their car, or try to get away from what they reasonably perceive as a violent threat, ICE agents open fire, and later claim the vehicle was “used as a weapon.” Law enforcement cannot detain people without legal justification. The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures, and officers are expected to clearly communicate their authority, and the basis for their actions. They are supposed to de-escalate situations. Instead, they use tactics to create fear and confusion… making it more likely someone will panic, and easier for agents to claim deadly force was necessary, while they violate the person’s constitutional rights. When these tactics become standard practice, accountability becomes nonexistent.

@johnnyfrederix the only people died by ICE are people who tried to hurt or kill ICE. The only thing some states took away is the ability for abortion which can be prevented by wearing a condom. No one is getting arrested for critizing ICE. If you look at Europe exactly that of what you're saying is actuallu happening.
