@elektromorr An actual free market proponent, not a communist-socialist projecting their ideology on a capitalist: if you create value for others, you can become rich.

capitalists: if you work hard you will become rich coffee shop waitress: works hard capitalists: no not like that
Lord Balthazar MBE@LordBalthazar85

@THemingford Coffee shop waitress isn’t a job you do when you want to pay a mortgage and have kids. It’s a summer job for young kids. If you want to make it “cover the cost of living” then coffee (and everything else especially food) gets more expensive as with every minimum wage increase.

Why has our education rankings fallen from one of the best in the world in 1975 before the department of education was created to somewhere around 30th in the world now? Just like markets, education policy cannot be dictated by a small group of people who think they know best. Education, and markets, require individuals to make choices and from those choices come cooperation. Cooperation rather than coercion creates both economic and educational prosperity. Your beloved government and politburo creates the problems, it cannot solve them.

@rushicrypto Here is what it rewards, the value creators and the risk takers. Some of those people are skilled, some are intelligent, some are creative, some are hard workers, but every single one of them took a risk and created something that we value and are willing to trade for.

If capitalism truly rewarded skill or intelligence, the richest people would be neurosurgeons, engineers, and scientists. If it rewarded talent, it would be artists, writers, and creators. If it rewarded hard work, it would be cleaners, laborers, and service workers. But it’s none of them.

@jemelehill He could have been more clear, and said something along the lines of if you are going to a restaurant and buying alcohol you have to show ID, but he in the moment, he probably didn’t think there were people stupid enough to make it about going to Chipotle to get a burrito.

Other than the fact that the current President would be Donald Trump, the more important reason for the electoral college is the tyranny of the majority (urban population) over the minority (rural population) is limited. I always thought that leftist progressives stood for the minority, but it turns out they only virtual signal their support for the minority when it serves them politically.

You know a really nice thing about US healthcare, we get to see physicians and surgeons without having to wait. I fell hiking a couple of Saturday’s ago. Hurt my shoulder but gutted it out for a couple of days. On Wednesday afternoon, I decided to make an appointment. Had an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon on Thursday morning. It was less than 20 hours from the time I decided to make an appointment to the time I was in the surgeons office.

People say Canadian healthcare is not free, because we pay taxes for it. But in America, people pay taxes and still have to pay for healthcare out of their pockets. And if they are broke, the hospital tells them to go die.

It wasn’t Biden, he was too incompetent to do anything. He was nothing more than a puppet. The real threat was the communist-socialists like @SenWarren, @BernieSanders and @RBReich that fought tooth and nail against the market solution that was proposed a couple of years ago. “The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine the can design.” FA Hayek called out the socialists and their hostile economic illiteracy long ago.

This administration refuses to take responsibility for any of their actions. Spirit specifically cited why they couldn’t stay in business: skyrocketing fuel costs due to Trump’s war. And the Trump admin is still trying to blame Biden for everything. Biden?! You could maybe get away with that if it were February 2025, but it’s May 2026. Trump was the “I’ll make everything cheaper on day 1” guy. The “no new wars” guy. Own your actions.

They had a merger that many of the communist-socialists in Congress railed against. The market had a solution. Unfortunately the intellect of imbeciles worked to stop it. There is no problem with businesses failing, the inefficient and unprofitable ones must. That is a market functioning. But to have the government stopping a proposed market solution because it knows best is what I am pointing out today. “The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine they can design.” ~FA Hayek

@SenWarren But again, this is the typical communalist-socialist rhetoric. The market has a solution, the communist-socialist stands in the way of the market solution, and then the communist-socialists blame the markets for the communist-socialist failure.

Spiking fuel prices from Trump’s war was the nail in the coffin for twice-bankrupted Spirit airline. FWIW, JetBlue merger failed because a judge, appointed by Ronald Reagan, said the deal was illegal. Republicans are desperate to shift blame from higher costs hitting families.

Fuel prices may have been the nail in the coffin, but your actions blocking the market transaction a couple of years ago built the coffin. “The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imaging they can design.” FA Hayek knew exactly what he was talking about. He knew socialists, while believing they are intellectually superior, have no clue as to how to direct economic activities. It is best to allow markets to function and get the clueless polcicians like you and your ilk away from it. This failure is completely yours.

True, but don’t forget that they had a market solution with their proposed merger with JetBlue a couple of years ago, but a few politicians with superior intellect deemed it bad, so it was blocked. Now 17,000 jobs are being eliminated because of the actions of @SenWarren @BernieSanders and @RBReich. “The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine the can design.” FA Hayek.

The result of @SenWarren @PeteButtigieg, @BernieSanders and @RBReich. Now 17,000 people are losing their jobs because of those four and others of their ilk. “The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how really little they know about what they image they can design.” Friedrich Hayek clearly articulated the failure of the socialists with this one quote.
