The cost of government borrowing for 30 years has just hit 5.6%, compared to the worst one day spike to 4.8% under Truss. Rachel Reeves said that rate had crashed the economy. Oh dear, what has the Chancellor done?

Thousands of people are opposing plans for a major wind farm off the Isle of Man's coast, claiming it will have a "devastating" effect on the island's natural beauty. The proposals by Danish energy giant Orsted could see 87 turbines built six to 12 miles off the eastern coast. More destruction of Britain's natural beauty. #CostOfNetZero

The government’s complete failure on small boats isn’t down to Martin Hewett It’s because Keir Starmer and Shabana Mahmood are too weak to take the necessary action - such as coming out of the ECHR and deporting all illegal immigrants within a week of arrival Labour’s decision to cancel the Rwanda removals plan was a disaster - since the election 67,000 illegal immigrants have crossed the channel - an increase of 45% compared to the same period before Martin Hewett isn’t to blame for this - it’s down to Shabana Mahmood and Keir Starmer’s failings

If I attended a job interview and wouldn't answer, I wouldn't get the job. If it was found I lied in my answers I would get dismissed. Why do politicians think they can obfuscate and lie with no repercussions? They have forgotten that they work FOR US! Here's the worst example:

No voter ID, especially when combined with mail-in ballots, means the system is engineered to make fraud impossible to prove. Everyone knows that you can barely get through your week without showing ID for the most banal activities, like shopping at Costco. The only reason to ban ID is to hide massive voter fraud.
Katie Miller@KatieMiller

The reality is there's mass amounts of cheating in our elections. Just because there's an engineered lack of data, does not mean there isn't data to the contrary. The new CBS/YouGov poll shows that 80% of Americans support Voter ID including 80% of black Americans & 77% of Hispanic Americans. Yet why is it that Congress seems so intractable to wanting to pass a such a popular policy?

@Conservatives @A_J_Snowden That’s how you do it. Straight question. No answer. Starmer’s problem isn’t the question it’s the truth behind it.

Spectators Mr S also thought it was the highlight of the session! “So it was left to Andrew Snowden, the Bolton bruiser, to deliver the highlight of this week’s session. The Tory MP hammered Starmer, bemoaning how ‘Every week, the Prime Minister comes here and reads out this pre-scripted nonsense that bears no resemblance to the questions he’s answered.’ With the Opposition benches cheering him on, he again asked what conversations Starmer had had with Mandy prior to appointing him Our Man in Washington.”

Watch Conservative MP @A_J_Snowden embarrass Keir Starmer in PMQs 🔥 What is Keir Starmer trying to hide? Why won’t he tell the British public if he spoke to Mandelson about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein?

What’s the point of the Speaker of the House if he doesn’t make @Keir_Starmer answer the bloody questions on Mandelson? It’s a pantomime.

The beauty of this is Andrew Snowden predicted correctly that Keir Starmer would deflect straight questions by Kemi Badenoch at PMQs about Peter Mandelson. Andrew then pointed out his failed deflection strategy to the PM, and he received the same deflection technique to his own question to the PM. May I suggest a new strategy to the PM- listen to the question and then answer it. I know it’s a novel approach but you’ve tried everything else so give this a go!

So the UK's 10-year gilt yield - the cost of government borrowing - is now up at 2008 levels. An 18-year high The difference is that, back then, UK national debt was 48pc of GDP, and now it's the best part of 100pc. So the debt service costs are much MUCH heavier. Of the £14.3bn the UK government borrowed in February alone, no less than £13bn of that was spent on interest on existing debts - a situation which is not only unsustainable, but very close to provoking a disastrous financial collapse. Yet still, our national discourse is all about more spending, more borrowing, more "state intervention". When is the Labour party – and much of the listless, unthinking rump of the UK's political and media class – going to start acknowledging reality? WHEN ....?

“The very last thing Miliband could do with at this point is a load of power-hungry electric arc furnaces being installed. Thankfully for him, what is likely to happen instead is that other forms of industry leave the country, as Britain adds high steel prices to its already dire business environment for manufacturers.” @baylissbaghdad

David Lammy says judges can adopt the Government’s “Islamophobia” definition. It’s supposed to be non-statutory. But it’s clearly going to change the way the law works. That’s why we will scrap it.
