Drunk Driver Crashes Into Indiranagar Restaurant, Pedestrians Escape Narrowly,Car seized. Bengaluru A major accident was narrowly averted late Thursday night on #Indiranagar’s bustling 100 Feet Road when a drunk driver lost control of his car, jumped a divider, and rammed into a popular restaurant. At around 11:35 pm, CCTV cameras captured the speeding #Skoda driven by 42 year old Derrick hurtling down from the 18th Main Road toward 100 Feet Road. Unable to negotiate a scheduled left turn due to excessive speed and intoxication, the vehicle mounted the central divider, struck a parked two-wheeler and slammed into the exterior wall of the restaurant. The dramatic footage shows the car missing a group of Pedestrians by mere inches.Fortunately, the incident did not result in any major injuries. #Bengaluru Traffic Police confirmed that Derrick was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. She's run a grocery shop for 18 years. Here's her business model: She borrows from moneylenders at 10% interest every 45 days. Do the math. And yet she offers products on credit to her customers at 0%. She tracks the outstanding through hand written cards where they pay weekly. 25% of her customers were on credit. Some haven't cleared their COVID dues. She doesn't chase them. "If we force them too much, they stop coming to our shop." Technically she's running a micro-finance operation that happens to sell rice, poha and dal. I asked about her son. He's in Chennai, studying pharmacy. Will he take over the shop? "No. He'll start something there." I've interviewed dozens of small business owners. I've learned one diagnostic question that reveals everything: Would you want your children to take over? When the answer is a firm no, you're looking at a dying business. Run the actual P&L. Account for credit defaults, damaged stock, expired goods, interest payments. The math never worked. These aren't businesses. They're cash flow loops that families stay trapped in until the next generation finds an exit. R doesn't need better inventory software or a delivery app. She needs her son to graduate so she can finally stop.
