@joshm @awilkinson @diabrowser @browsercompany I have had new chat enabled for weeks, and also have all my apps connected. I haven't gotten a single morning brief or report. And can't get an answer from anyone why its not working.
English

Wow, was I wrong.
I was choked when I heard OpenAI was discontinuing Atlas.
I just setup @diabrowser from @browsercompany.
Atlas now feels like a joke by comparison. Super impressed.
English

fun fact: before Obsession inde navarrette was a beta tester of @diabrowser and was an early inspiration for our switch to the claude agent sdk

Me without my Morning Brief:
English

I regret all the bad things I said about @diabrowser and @browsercompany.
It is absolutely amazing. I love THIS product.
English

@jonathan_jlo @jdsimcoe It mentions the calendar, and the app is enabled in settings.
English

@jdsimcoe @coreyward if you're signed into google and you have any events on your calendar for that day, they should show at the bottom! right now it will only pull in the current account you are signed into
you can double check by going Dia > Settings > Apps and you should see Google Calendar
English

@coreyward @charliedeets great question, i'm wondering the same thing

there’s a small caption included in every morning brief that quietly became a fan favorite. when we were first prototyping this feature internally, i wanted to create a sense of ease before jumping straight into your work day. so i pulled from one of my favorite moments of the day: walking into our brooklyn office and catching up with my work besties
sadly LLMs don’t know this feeling, so i’ve spent many hours and many iterations on the prompt that powers this teeny-tiny sentence. everything in the morning brief starts with how we believe mornings should feel. if one of these captions can crack a smile, that’s a win in my book!
here’s a shortlist of my favorite examples included in this prompt:
- “nothing on the books until noon. main character energy."
- “light friday. this is what dreams are made of."
- “meeting-heavy day, but hey, at least you're popular."

Best-performing @browsercompany feature of all time:
English

I saw an interview recently where this guy talked about how waiting is core to the human experience
waiting to hear back, watching something grow, letting an idea ripen, falling in love, scientific progress
AI has trained us to expect immediate answers, but this impatience is degrading our ability to connect as well as let time turn information into true knowledge
i really like that

behind the scenes of how we shipped Decks, our favorite way to use @diabrowser
this was a personal mission after testing many ai presentation tools. cool demos, but none provided a better way to make a slide deck. great products to make sleek slides about nothing. with Dia we flipped this on its head: content > design
admittedly Dia is not the best product for a polished keynote presentation. but 90% of our meetings internally aren’t that. they are updates on projects; proposals based on existing docs; or data readouts for feature launches. the job of these slides is not to look pixel perfect, the job is to clearly share an accurate narrative
as someone who’s made hundreds of decks in their career, the objective was clear: make something i’d actually use. when i need to give a presentation the first thing i ask is not “what theme should i use?” there's a somewhat subconscious process and method in my head that breaks it down into pieces asking questions like:
- who is the audience?
- what is the key takeaway to share?
- what supporting material helps support this takeaway?
Dia follows this behavior. it works with you by pulling in context, answers what it can, and asks questions where unsure. deciding the narrative and takeaway of your slides is what makes them yours. in a world where everyone is looking to outsource and automate their work to ai, we’ll continue building with the human at the center
and a big thank you to all the incredible humans who helped ship! @jeffrafter @chrstnerode @jumhyn @jedimody

a free masterclass in how to be a world-class, human-first designer in the age of ai

we just wrapped our Spring quarter at @diabrowser. before i jump to the next big thing (!), a short behind-the-scenes on one of my favorite projects to date: artifacts! the design challenge: how do you make AI-generated docs that don’t *feel* AI-generated? (🧵 1/10)
English

obviously, all this took a whole amazing team:
massive shout out to @jonathan_jlo for relentless prototyping, @jeffrafter for caring about grids even more than i do, and @jumhyn for being the voice of reason when it comes to avant-garde chart textures
now onto the next project 🚀

4/ when prototyping with questions, @joshm equated the experience to why @lee94josh is a master in his craft. he was always asking the right questions, and always thinking about the human behind the screen
English

1/ win win friction: in a world where AI is marketed to automate and remove, we strive to put humans at the center of @diabrowser. instead of, "what can AI do for you?" we ask, "what can AI do *with* you?"
an effective paradigm we're leaning into here is Dia asking YOU questions
English

@exrlla @joshm @diabrowser as long as you're signed into slack in Dia it's connected! you can also check if you go to Dia > Settings > Chat > Connected Apps
English

@joshm @diabrowser is there a way to connect slack? right now its only giving me updates from notion

Been privately testing “Morning Briefs” in @diabrowser. They prep you for the day before you've had your coffee.
We’d love more ahead of GA. Type coffeeonjosh in the new tab page to try it. Setup today to get your first Morning Brief tomorrow!
Please send feedback after too!

English

@alfaruqstories you should get your first morning brief tomorrow! note that you need to be signed into Slack to receive a morning brief (we're working on expanding this now)
English

@joshm @diabrowser Your team is the only one I trust this to get right. Although can you add support for Linear as well?
English

@stuarthaas @joshm @diabrowser what items are constantly reappearing for you that you'd like to dismiss?
English

@joshm @diabrowser It would be great if we could dismiss items so they don’t reappear day after day.
English

@DevinLewtan @turbopuffer @Sirupsen hell yeah, these guys are my favorite serverless vector and full-text search built on object storage
English

i'm excited to share that i’ve officially joined @turbopuffer to work on growth and brand!
after consulting w @Sirupsen for the last few months, it's safe to say i've never met a team so hardcore & so whimsical at the same time
