One of the largest factors restricting Texas from becoming the best place in the world for families is the property tax issue.

So, a word on the whole "guy uses AI to cure his dog's cancer" story that's going around: I don't know if it's true or not. It's somewhat irrelevant to what I'm about to say. What I do know is this: My wife and I are friends with a couple a few towns over. We buy duck eggs from them. The husband, a very alert, physically capable engineer in his 70s, got cancer. They are absolutely avoiding the accepted treatments. Instead, they're pursuing a therapy that mirrors what the guy with the dog dig: They paid a lab and got the tumor sequenced, and paid a company to develop a vaccine targeted specifically at the tumor's gene sequence. And it's working. Spectacularly. This isn't a novel approach. It's out in the world, and there are companies, doctors, and labs offering it. But the medical industry won't tell you about it. Your doctor isn't going to offer it to you as an option. You have to go looking for it. It's not cheap, but it's cheaper than a course of chemo. And it actually works.

Texans don't want a new $50,000,000 highschool football stadium; they want lower taxes.

🚨 A man's dog was dying of cancer. Vets said there was nothing left to do. Please stop scrolling, you really need to read this. He uploaded his dog's DNA to ChatGPT. Asked it to find the mutations. Then ran those mutations through Google's AlphaFold to map the proteins. Then designed a custom vaccine from scratch. At home. On his laptop. The dog survived. No oncologist. No research grant. No pharmaceutical company. No clinical trial. No $200,000 treatment plan. Just a guy who loved his dog enough to try something insane. Now here's the part that should make you angry. This same technology exists right now. Today. For humans. The same AI that mapped a dog's cancer mutations can map yours. AlphaFold already solved protein folding - the problem scientists said would take 50 years.. DeepMind won a Nobel Prize for it last year. But you can't use it. Not legally. Not easily. Not without a team of specialists who charge more per hour than you make in a week. A man in Australia cured his dog's cancer with free tools and WiFi. Meanwhile, 600,000 Americans will die of cancer this year, and most of them can't even get a second opinion without going into debt. The technology to save lives isn't missing. It's being gatekept by people who charge for access to it. A dog in Australia got better healthcare than most humans on earth. Not because the system failed. Because the system is working exactly as designed. It was never built to save you.. It was built to bill you.

🚨 An American films what his local Krispy Kreme does with unsold donuts at closing time, tossing them instead of discounting. With prices reportedly reaching $22 a dozen in some cities, the clip is sparking backlash.

Texas stands with President Trump. His message to Iran is clear: aggression toward America and our allies will no longer be tolerated. I've directed @TxDPS and the Texas National Guard, working with their federal counterparts, to heighten surveillance and patrols to safeguard our state against any potential cyber or lone wolf retaliatory attacks. Cecilia and I pray for our troops, for the Iranian people yearning for freedom, and for a swift victory. Texas stands with our Commander-in-Chief.

Cigna just sent my dead wife, who succumbed to cancer last August, a DENIAL letter for a test to help diagnose her tumor markers. WTF is even going on with medical insurance companies? She left this world 6 months ago BECAUSE she couldn't get proper treatment. We don't hate these people enough.

@MrBeast I would take $50,000 a month. That’s $600k a year, which is 12% of $5m that you can the reinvest at market rates. In year 8 you will have $5m and still be earning $50k a month plus the interest you earn on your money. $50k a month is better than $5,000,000 at all points.
