@jasonkovacs @PeterPollock I will celebrate 25 years in full time ministry on March 15th. I have served 3.5 years, 1 year (hurricane Katrina), 10 years, and 10.5 years. No sabbatical yet. I would say if you can’t do sabbatical, find a trusted, biblically faithful Christian counselor.

The average length of time a seminary trained pastor lasts in ministry is 5 years. The average length of time churches require you to work before taking a sabbatical is 7 years. On average, pastors burn out 2 years before they could qualify for well needed rest. @PeterPollock

@JoshuaBarzon We have a family whose son is stationed at the base in Bahrain that was hit. As pastor, I felt it appropriate to pray for him and our troops. We also prayed for Muslims in that region to come to saving faith. It did not distract from the service.

Lebron James got the conversation started about the coverage of the NBA and where it is lacking. The truth is those who are the most powerful and influential in their coverage of the NBA tear down the product and its players for 3 reasons: 1-They want to be bigger than the stars. 2-They make the story about them not the players. 3-They make more money being critical The current NBA media culture has some making themselves and their opinions the news instead of the players. That’s why Lebron said what he said and @KingJames is right. The NBA is more skilled and more diverse than ever with new faces of the NBA right there staring us in the face. Yet, all we hear about is negativity.
