Thank you, @dameofdementia, for your steadfast dedication to advocating for those affected by substance use disorders! You are a rock star!!
Katherine Pannel, DO FAPA@dameofdementia

Happy to share some positive news! So thankful for the wonderful work the @msdh is doing to reduce overdose deaths in our state. We have seen over 30% reduction in overdose deaths in our state do to harm reduction efforts such as fentanyl testing strips and naloxone. Yes, we are still in crisis mode but it’s great to see hard work paying off. @jonhubanks is doing an INCREDIBLE job leading these efforts!

Chris Glasgow once believed becoming a doctor belonged to a different life—one he'd lost to addiction. But with perseverance, support and sobriety, he’s now graduating from UMMC as class president and a future anesthesiologist. Read more on his story: umc.edu/news/News_Arti…

“I feel like we can relate to the students that we’re teaching,” said Chloe Bergman, a second-year pharmacy student from Perryville, Missouri. “We know what’s going on on campus and in Oxford, so we can really tell them how to react in those situations.” bit.ly/3LPtSNg

Today, I launched One Pill Can Kill, an initiative to fight the fentanyl crisis in Mississippi. Counterfeit pills are easily available – even to adolescents – through social media and other apps, and they are increasingly common throughout Mississippi. They can be intentionally contaminated with extremely potent fentanyl. According to the Mississippi State Department of Health, 70% of overdose deaths involve synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl. There are no second chances with fake pills that are polluted. One pill is all it takes to kill, and we have lost too many of our loved ones. Let’s beat this fentanyl crisis together, Mississippi. #OnePill

I love traveling. One place I'll never return is New Orleans. No offense to my NOLA followers because this likely doesn't apply but... This has to be collectively one of the dumbest cities in the nation. I've never encountered so many people with the cognitive function of an ant. The cities illiteracy rate is obscene. If the movie Idiocracy was a city, it would undoubtedly be NOLA. If you figured out how to operate a phone and can actually read this, it's probably not about you.
