Keiser squat done with both free weights and pneumatic resistance vs free weights and rubberbands, has someone measured the difference? Curious as how they would differ in terms of impulse. Difficult also to standardize comparisons. But essentially both our trying to create more time under tension

My takeaway from this is if the goal is to expose players to max speed, we need to be thinking about sprint distances beyond 30m. Short 20m sprints are great for acceleration, but they aren’t enough if you're chasing max speed exposure across all positions. Tight five included!

Contrary to popular belief, even props and second rowers, who I assumed might hit top speed earlier, still need more than 20m to get into their max velocity zone (>90%).

Sprint profiling over 20m gives us a good snapshot of how players accelerate, and anecdotally we know that 20m often isn’t enough to get players to their top speed, except maybe for the tight five (props and second rowers), who generally have lower top end speed

@jonobward @SimpliFaster Coach, I just wanted to say that your first simplifaster article was a lightbulb moment for me and how we use the 1080. We have began utilizing this technique to great effect. Thank you!

In my new article on @SimpliFaster I explain how I use to 1080 Sprints speed limit setting to overload Force &/or Power, depending on the sprint phase I am targetting. Plus I share some practical examples of how I use it within my program of pro rugby players!

"To be fast, you need to hit 3.0m/s or 6.7mph on your 1st step. If the athlete has not reached that threshold, their body is not moving fast enough to get the center of mass forward enough to get the 1st step under or behind the mass." 📈 New @korfist ⤵️ simplifaster.com/articles/zero-…

The budgets of second division French clubs tells us that rugby is going strong here in 🇫🇷 Most second div clubs have more $ than Super Rugby and NRL clubs back in Aus 🇦🇺 Brive for example has a budget of 26 million AUD, with Aurillac (the smallest) with 8.1 million AUD.

Minor Premiers 2023/24! Time to recover and get prepped for a home semi in two weeks. By the time the season finishes we would have started preseason exactly 1 year ago. This season has been a marathon, but a rewarding one at that.

@eddylea @KeiserUK @Woolley_Man I have this up next to our Keiser Squat showing the players best results at diff resistances. Not a FV profile but gives the boys targets to try and hit depending on the prescribed loading of that day. I have position averages too. Best for us is a Prop with 5864 W at 300lbs.

Question, has any successfully used the @KeiserUK squat machine to perform a force velocity profile ? @Woolley_Man you’re my first thought
