@brecht_dp I've been published two or three times in multiple places, but this stretches out over years sometimes. I tend to want to find new editors and new places, thinking (probably erroneously) that I have those ones where my work has been previously in "the back pocket."

Today, I did something I usually never do: submit to a journal that's published me before. I don't know why I have such an issue with that - fear that they'll realise it was a mistake to accept me in the past?

@StanchionZine What's most galling are the ones, anonymous or not, who always encourage writers to please submit again in the form rejection.

I'm BEGGING you to stop paying submission/reading fees, in general, but especially ESPECIALLY to faceless, nameless online lit mags. Jesus fucking christ just don't do it.

I've been reading some heavy hitters recently ... Lehane's "Gone Baby Gone", Tana French's "Broken Harbor", and after a two-year pause I'm back reading @JamesLeeBurke ... I love "Black Cherry Blues", but this one is fantastic.
