@ohkathleenkiddo "I know lots" she said "so take me to Baton Rouge".
English

@ohkathleenkiddo Forget the chicken, forget the egg. Tarantella is a dance and tarantula is a spider. Everyone knows that spiders can't dance. I think it's to do with the number of legs. Spider babies don't leave the nest till they can walk on all eights. Then they eat mum. There's gratitude.

@ajlees I remember hearing Francis Crick, some years ago, saying that any theory which matched all the data was bound to be wrong because some of the data itself was wrong.

@BrundinPatrik @KRayChaudhuri1 @MubasherQamar @KingsCollegeLon @CureParkinsonsT @ampodlewska Agreed, Patrik. Now what are you going to do about it?

@KRayChaudhuri1 @MubasherQamar @KingsCollegeLon @CureParkinsonsT @ampodlewska Sleep issues in #Parkinson disease. Possibly the most under appreciated area in clinical research.

we struggle to get nonmotor subtypes of Parkinson in the mainstream !! nice to see though the sleep subtype in paper after the NA subtype. Real implications for Parkinson patients who still drive or swim! @MubasherQamar @KingsCollegeLon @CureParkinsonsT @ampodlewska

@Avng_Medusa @MichaelOkun @drpouratian @DBSThinkTank Personally, I don't mind the term DBS. It says exactly what It is and what it does. 'Brain pacemaker', to my mind suggests that the brain is being paced. In other words it's a sluggish brain! I do use the term brain pacemaker from time to time but prefer DBS. Just saying.
English

Time to abandon the name deep brain stimulation? How about a rebrand to 'brain pacemaker' which could ultimately provide a better connection to the persons with disease and to their families. Great discussion stimulated by @drpouratian at the @DBSThinkTank nejm.org/doi/full/10.10… @PdAvengers

@ajlees @janealty1 I wish I had been there, Andrew, and heard your talk. I have been to Scanmodis once, in Stockholm, with Tom Isaacs and Sara Riggare, some years back now, and found it very well organized.
English

I talked about stress and Parkinsons, type 2 diabetes and Parkinson’s disease and Jane Alty’s optic flow computer vision with Eulerian magnification research on invisible tremors at SCANMODIS 21 meeting, Stockholm. Always a well organised and enjoyable annual meeting @janealty1

@ajlees Spot on, Andrew! ‘We are given two ears and one mouth. We should use them in the same proportion” applies to neurologists too…

@KRayChaudhuri1 Agree completely, Ray! If it’s not about patients what is it about?

In Madman and Brainspotting I have let you into a secret that only reading the essays can reveal. The more the world we live in resembles a crime scene the more we need to believe we are all Sherlock Holmes.

This pretty much says it all. Whoever came up withe lightning flash motif for Parkinson's advocacy has royally screwed up!

@djclairemj I just looked up what all the talk is about a new logo. Good graphic designers always do a reverse image search to see if what they have created is close to anything else. This Russian weapons company is what comes up first when comparing the new PD logo. Opps!

Congratulations to Dr. @CamilleBCarroll who has been awarded the 2021 Tom Isaacs Award in recognition of her work involving patients. Her dedication has had an incredible impact on the lives of many people with Parkinson’s; such a well-deserved winner! buff.ly/3Dm6nol
