@U2ACelebration @U2ThreeChords @U2 Thanks for that. Makes sense now. Didn't Steve Wickham play with In Tua and Waterboys? Think the War version of Sunday Bloody Sunday on which Steve plays is overshadowed from a record point of view by the Under Blood Red Sky version.

@HillF1 How about this one? Rainer Schlegelmilch photo taken it looks like Brands Hatch 78. First GP I watched on TV so have a soft spot for this particular Ferrari.

@frentzen_hh Used to love Alternative Nation on Sunday nights if I recall correctly. Allowed me to discover the likes of Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam.

@TheRoboteer @Prostenjoyer I was actually going to mention Jabouille 😀 could have been a WDC contender with today's level of reliability. Panis a good shout too. I miss the days of privateer teams like Ligier and being Irish Jordan of course.

@joshua_tree87 @Prostenjoyer Even in qualifying, supposedly his strongest area, he was badly beaten by Jabouille in both 1979 and 1980, beaten by Prost in 1981, by Tambay in 1983 and Alboreto in 1984 Only 1982 where he matched Prost does he look good, but that's down to 1982 being Prost's weakest season IMO

@TheRoboteer @Prostenjoyer How about Rene Arnoux? Came close to WDC in 1983. Pironi a good shout too. Would have been almost certainly 82 WDC if it hadn't been for his terrible Hockenheim accident.

@Prostenjoyer Laffite's a solid call. I think I'd personally throw Depailler into the conversation, but that may be a bit of a hot take Pironi and pre-accident Panis are both viable shouts too. Jean-Pierre Wimille also deserves a mention even though he died just before the F1 WDC began

@frentzen_hh Alonso doesn't seem to have gone into decline the same way as Hamilton despite being older. He's hanging on for at the very least a few wins with Adrian Newey before he finishes his career. Not sure about the WDC and anyway I can see Max V joining Aston Martin ultimately.

@Ccuny79 @frentzen_hh @ilundici I think I recall one of his finest moments was moving from lower reaches of top 10 to P3 in last few laps of 2008 Belgian GP. Damp track if I recall.

@frentzen_hh @ilundici 😂👌 Well, more seriously, what is your opinion about Heidfeld? I always thought he deserved a better F1 career. To me, he was fast, hard-worker but maybe too "shy", too gentle...

@AD17DUNNE Lots of rumours about Alpine being sold and Christian Horner joining so I would imagine that will delay things anyway.

@imnotasheeppp @frentzen_hh @tiff_tv Kept an eye on Mick Schumacher as well in F2. And was aware of Leclerc and Piastri on different occasions as upcoming talents. Ralph Firman drove for Ireland at one stage in A1GP and he was ex Jordan.

@joshua_tree87 @frentzen_hh @tiff_tv Yes True I was cheering on Verstappen senior among others. Perhaps the difference was that the drivers weren't rookies like in F2

The other big fear is that we'll suddenly see one car cruising past two as those in front harvest but the overtaker has some leccy to spare. Commentators will go wild (watch a Formula E race for an example) but if you know what's really happenening you know it's not real racing!
Tiff Needell 🏁@tiff_tv

Because the cars are still very big and heavy and the increase in electric drive will mean drivers spending a lot of time 'managing' their battery regeneration rather than just getting on with actual racing!

@frentzen_hh @imnotasheeppp @tiff_tv I kind of found that my interest very much depended on how the Irish team did in A1. Kind of find the same with F2 this year and fortunes of Alex Dunne. With F1 you have all the Ferrari, McLaren etc history. You have similar back story with Le Mans.
