@LBC Dave Wood’s comments need examination. He left Lab paratactically the same time as his friend and employer (according to register of interests) NICK BROWN. I’m not defending the Winter Allowance fiasco, but after serving Lab during Iraq… this the red line? really?

Latest Express poll needs more input. You know what to do. (Link takes you directly to the poll. It bypasses the Express website, so you won't boost their ad impressions. Ignore the request to enter an email address - it's optional.) xd.wayin.com/display/contai…

Sooner we get the network renationalised the better to get rid of this “oh it’s not our fault, it’s TransPenine” nonsense.

HOPE not hate
HOPE not hate@hopenothate·
There are many who have sought to frame this week of far-right riots as outpourings of legitimate anger. They are not. This is racist violence spurred on by far-right hatred. Those directly involved in these horrifying scenes need to face the full force of the law. (3)

@NewWritingNorth Culture is transformative, and resources need to go where they will have most impact. A Centre for Writing in Newcastle must bring opportunities to disadvantaged groups. It must not be used for the usual suspects to attend endless conferences and drink wine.

We're calling on the new Labour Government to support our plans to make the North East the centre of creativity for the writing industries. Let's establish a Centre for Writing in Newcastle and reposition the industry's southern and London bias 💫 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@ApsanaBegumMP You were elected as Labour. You have a responsibility to abide by the collective responsibility of the Labour whip. You predictably did not do that. If you wanted to be independent, you should have stood as one.

I voted against the two-child benefit cap which has contributed to rising and deepening levels of child poverty and food insecurity for many East End families. I have now been informed that I have had the whip withdrawn.

Labour are massively vulnerable on this stuff if they don’t deliver. Next time Streeting and Philips could lose their seats…others too… It’s a new calculus because 9 independents and greens were elected. Those who campaigned for them should be proud.

Lib Dem MP Layla Moran asks the UK foreign secretary if he'll recognise the state of Palestine, and if not, why not? Lammy says that the govt are committed to recognising the state of Palestine at some unspecified date in the future.

Big news for the Shields Ferry. Looks like full funding for a new landing next to the North Shields Fish Quay will finally be secured, saving it from the threat to closure. £8.2m for it included in the @NorthEast_CA City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement plans.
